The Most Popular Blog Posts in 2024

On Halloween of 2006, I wrote the very first blog post on Everyday Reading.

Back then it was a free Blogger site and there was no social media associated with it. No Instagram, no Pinterest, certainly no email list.

I could have NEVER imagined that Everyday Reading would look like it does today (the word “reel” meant nothing like what it means to me today!).

Every year, I love looking back to see what posts were the most popular over the past 12 months.

There are always some I know will show up and some that totally surprise me!

In honor of 18 years of Everyday Reading, here are the top 18 posts for the past year:

25 of the Most Popular Blog Posts on Everyday Reading in 2024

Where You Can Get a Non Resident Library Card
I was not surprised to see this one make the list. It hit the top 10 last year when I published it and it just continues to be a massively popular post week after week. I love seeing it hit the #1 spot and my team and I work hard to keep it updated – adding libraries as we discover them and taking off ones if they change their policies.

The 2023 $5 Gift Guide
This was another post that did NOT surprise me – my reel about it went incredibly viral last year (who doesn’t want fantastic gift ideas that are extremely affordable!?). I snagged a bunch of the gifts off of it for my own friends and family.

Kindle 101
This post was SO FUN to write because I love Kindle readers and answering alllllll the questions about them and it feels great to have all those answers in one place now. It makes me so happy to know that it has been so helpful for all of you too! (In fact, I did a Yoto 101 post a few months after!).

How to Share an Audible Book With a Friend
This post is just the gift that keeps on giving – year after year, it tops the charts as one of the very most popular posts (even though Audible has mostly killed this feature so it’s not even a very useful post anymore).

Everything You Should Know About a Basic Kindle vs a Paperwhite
One of the most common questions I get asked is when Kindles will be on the best sale. With so many of you in the market for a Kindle, I am so glad to have a post to share about all the similarities and differences between these two Kindles.

The 2024 Book Reading Log
This was BY FAR the most popular reading log we’ve ever released and the data backs it up. If you haven’t snagged it yet, you can still grab a copy here, or even an undated copy here to use whenever you’d like!

Everything You Should Know About a Kids Kindle vs a Basic Kindle
I’ve been talking about Kindles for YEARS and loved answering all your burning questions about the differences. With big Kindle sales throughout the year, I wasn’t too shocked to see this one on the list – you really need to find the right Kindle for your needs!

Stuff Your Kindle Day
This post was a last minute post I wrote because I was getting so many questions about Stuff Your Kindle Day and then this post got picked up by Google and went absolutely BANANAS. When I pulled up my site traffic the next day, my eyes seriously bugged out of my head.

My Favorite Granola Recipe
I was so SHOCKED to see this blog post made list because I posted it back in 2019! I am also not surprised, because I have been making this granola recipe for more than 12 years and it always gets better and better every time I make it. It really is the best granola ever!

2024 Summer Reading Guide – Historical Fiction
I knew the 2024 Summer Reading Guide was most likely going to be a top post, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that historical fiction was the most popular genre (you all really love your historical fiction!). For years, I’ve done a post about what we’re giving the girls for Christmas, but until recently, I’d never done a post about what I was giving Bart for Christmas. It turns out to be one of the most popular blog posts since, so I figure I’d better keep repeating it (plus, it forces me to plan ahead which is a huge personal benefit to this post!)

How to Order Large Engineering Prints
There’s nothing quite as magical as spending $2 and getting a giant print from Staples or another printing store. It’s truly about the most bang you can possibly get for your buck! If you haven’t done one yet, consider this your sign to do it (I promise, you’ll be hooked!).
