30+ Presents for a Reader
If there is one thing that brings me great delight, it is finding presents for a reader. Because it’s me! I’m the reader!
Whether you’re shopping for yourself or another book lover in your life, I hope you’ll find something delightfully literary on this year’s Book Lover’s Gift Guide!
30+ Presents for a Reader
Book Lovers Advent Calendar
Advent calendars are not just for kids! In this 25 day book-themed advent calendar, each day gets more exciting with a bookish surprise.
AUDIOBOOK SUBSCRIPTION
This makes for a great last minute present for a reader! Both Audible and Libro.fm are great ideas (they’re similar audiobook subscriptions).
- LIBRO.FM
Libro.fm supports the local bookstore of your choice as an added bonus. I always recommend giving this gift with a list of recommended books because their library can be a little overwhelming. Here are some of my favorite non-fiction titles (especially good for men), my ten most recommended books, and 25 of my favorite audiobooks for a variety of ages! And my ten favorite audiobooks for adults here. - AUDIBLE
For Audible, here are some of my favorite books for kids in the Audible library, my favorite Audible Catalog books and the best Audible Originals.
Book Stickers
How fun would these literary stickers be to pop on a water bottle, Kindle, or laptop!? These vinyl stickers are a lot of fun too!
Book-Themed Puzzles
I’m a puzzle lover to the core and when it includes books too? Well, sign me right up. I love a FUN puzzle to work on while I listening to an audiobook. These Booked All Weekend, Season’s Reading Puzzle, Jolly Book Lovers Puzzle, and Book Stack Puzzle are all speaking my language!
Homebody Book Club Crew Sweater
I firmly believe you can’t have too many sweatshirts or too many book-related items of clothing. So this is a big winner on both fronts (I’m sadly lacking on the book-related items of clothing side – better put this on my Christmas list!). Plus, the embroidery on this one is GORGEOUS!
Kindle
If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know that I love paper books, audiobooks and I LOVE my Kindle! I bought a new one this summer (read all about why here) and I use it on a regular basis! It’s so easy to take tons of books on vacation with you, the library is at your fingertips, there are no distractions…I could go on and on! Also, if you aren’t sure which one to buy, this post can help!
Bookworm Rainbow Socks
This is one of those very practical gifts that is bound to get used. These fun and retro bookworm socks would be great for any avid book reader, book club members, or even librarians!
Reading Sculpture
How sweet would this family reading sculpture be on a bookshelf? This is the perfect gift for a family who cherishes reading and books.
Library Book Bag
I wrote a whole post about my favorite library bag here – it comes in all sorts of colors and patterns, holds a million books (I like the standard size best) and can hold up under the weight (and sharp corners) of any library books you throw at it! Mine is about six years old and still looks brand-new, with zero wear and tear. And this is from someone who routinely shoves at least 25 books into it.
Kindle Page Turner
This seemed SO DUMB to me and then I ordered one this summer to try it out and both my 14 year old and I are HOOKED!!
Book Genre Coasters
These cork coasters have book genres printed on them and are stored in a little felt book! I cannot get enough – these coasters are speaking to me!
Kindle Case
There are a lot of Kindle case options out there, but my two favorite places to purchase them from are Page the Shop and You Have to Read This Now (my code for YHTRTN is JANSSEN). Their designs are unmatched!
Bookshelf Book Ends
I love a good bookend and this set is so much fun! The bookend itself is a mini bookshelf – perfect for adding mini books onto!
Book Sleeve
Kindles have the cutest cases now, but who says a book can’t have a fun little sleeve? I love this book themed book sleeve to keep books safe and secure from spills and tears. It’s also machine washable – which is a huge plus!
Literary Playing Cards
I love a card game, it’s a fun way to pass the time (they are usually quick) and a deck of cards is small enough to easily travel with or stuff into a stocking. These literary character card decks just make them even more fun! There is a Jane Austen deck, an Agatha Christie deck, and a Charles Dickens deck!
Bookish Cross Stitch Kit
Isn’t this so adorable?! This cross stitch kit comes with everything you need and is very beginner friendly. And when you are finished you will be left with a cute decoration to adorn your walls or bookshelf. Cross stitching is the perfect way to keep yourself entertained during the the long cold days of winter or during the summer when you’re home more with more free time to fill! Bonus points if you listen to an audiobook while stitching.
Bookstack Hair Clip
Hair clips have been so popular lately and I think these bookstack ones are so fun! Nothing says you love books like something book-themed holding your hair up. These are another fun option!
Bookshelf Paint by Number
For the artistic type, paint by numbers are a fun creative outlet. Turn on an audiobook or a mindless show and just start painting. This one would look so cute framed and hung on the wall afterward.
Literary Sponges
I cannot resist a bookish pun and these literary sponges deliver! Plus, they are extremely practical. I always have a stack of dishes to take care of and I know these sponges would put a smile on my face while washing.
Book Hair Pins
These enamel hair pins are actually really gorgeous, but not too over the top. This would perfect for anyone big or small who love books and like to pull their hair back from time to time.
Book Themed Badge Reel
For someone who wants something a little more subtle, this Booktrovert themed badge reel would be so fun to wear each day to school or the office!
Book Review Sticky Notes
These book review sticky notes are a fast and easy way to keep track of what you are reading. Slip them in a book you own when you are done, making it easy to go back and see what you thought about a book. A perfect gift for a bookworm!
Where is the Bookstore? Travel Hat
Do you have a friend or family member that always finds their way to a bookstore or library regardless of where you are? That happens to be one of our favorite family traditions when traveling! This hat would fit in perfectly with our travels and I love the green color!
Neck Book Light
I was SO dubious about a book light that went around your neck instead of clipping to a book, but I was 100% wrong. It makes it feel like you’re living in the stone ages when you use any other ones – this one is just such a great design and so much better than anything else I’ve tried. I promise, you might be dubious, but it’s worth a shot – more than 100,000 reviews can’t be wrong. Also, I’ve had a bunch of questions about how it works for kids, and my 10 year old LOVES it! If you want to see other book light options, check out this post where I tried and reviewed tons of different kinds.
Reading Plant Pot
My love for plants is a lot like my love for books – the more I get, the more I want. Especially if I can put them in one of these charming pots!
Book Person Mug
I know there are a lot of readers out there who are very passionate about their hot drinks while they read a book. This mug would be such a delightful addition to their collection. I especially love the little smiley face on the inside.
Library Book Plates
These are such a fun gift that cost almost nothing! They’re great for any book lover in your life, for a teacher or the members of your book club. If you want something more customized and personal, here are detailed instructions about how to make your own.
Vintage Bookshelf Board Games – or if you want to splurge and buy the whole set
How fun would these be to have lining your bookshelf?! My girls would get a kick out of pulling these off the shelf to reveal a game inside! If you are looking for a unique present for a reader in your life, this might be the one I would go for!
Weighted Page Holder
When you are someone who does a lot of reading, sometimes your hand gets tired of holding those pages open. This weighted page holder does all of the work for you! No more hand cramps!
Pippi Post is one of those places that I can always count on for a great present for a reader. Here are my current favorites from there!
