A few weeks ago, I mentioned the viral Squishmallow advent calendar and my DMs were flooded with people asking for ideas for an advent calendar for teens.
The advent calendars that may have been big hits when they were toddlers or elementary schoolers may not fit their interests any more!
If you’re on the look out for advent calendars for teens, I asked for suggestions from my audience and polled my own teen and tween daughters to pick the best advent calendars for teens that will be a hit in this new stage of life!

This was one of the TOP teen advent calendar suggestion! This advent calendar is both an Exit game and a 24 day long adventure of solving clues! Open up a door each day and solve the included riddle to find out what door you are supposed to open up the next day. The reviews said it takes 10-15 minutes each day to solve the riddle! This sounds so fun and I ordered this one for Ella last year.
Funko Pop 24-Day Advent Calendars – $31.99 – $59.99
I had never heard of these before, but these 2″ daily characters must be pretty popular because they have some seriously high reviews on Amazon and lots of different interests to choose from. From a NFL set, to Star Wars, to The Office, to Harry Potter (which I was thrilled about), you can pretty much find something for everyone!
Anthropologie Holiday Collection Beauty 24-Day Advent – $98
I have heard about this one year after year and even though I’m not a teenager, this would probably be in my top three of advents I would want. It’s filled to the brim with tons of fantastic beauty supplies and Anthropologie typically does no wrong. This one ALWAYS sells out, so act fast!
Lindt Chocolate 24-Day Advent – $14.99
I love the simplicity of those chocolate advent calendars that are only like $1-$5, but the chocolate inside is something I never want to eat. This one still provides the simplicity AND has delicious, worth-eating chocolate inside. Plus, the chocolate is shaped like the cutest little teddy bears! If you have a chocolate lover, Cadbury makes another great advent calendar.
Snow Globe Building Kit – $25.99
If you have a crafty teenager, this snow globe building kit would be a hit. Each day add a new piece to your snow globe scene and have a cute decoration you can use year after year. I especially love the twinkly lights that come with it!
Lego Advent 24-Day Advent – $26 – $45
I wasn’t surprised that these were highly suggested. Lego always does things in such a fun, high-quality way. If you have a LEGO lover at your house, this is a total win. For 24 days, you get put together a little piece of the full set and then you can play with it as you go along. There is a Star Wars version, a Marvel version, a Harry Potter version, a City version, or a Friends version.
Hey Clay Building 24-Day Advent Calendar – $30
Sculpt your way through the Christmas season! Each day comes with new air-dry clay and a QR code leading to a video showing you how to build that day’s sculpture. Add the hook and string and make them into ornaments!
Thoughtfully Gourmet Hot Chocolate Advent Calendar – $24

This was the #1 suggestion for advent calendar for teens! This advent calendar is full of makeup, skincare, bath and accessory gifts to unwrap for 24 days! If you want to go even bigger, they have a premium option here!
Charm Bracelet 24-Day Advent – $9.99
Have your teen countdown to Christmas with this adorable charm bracelet. Each day add a new, tiny Christmas themed charm to your bracelet! My girls would die for this and I love how affordable it is!
Sock Advent – $15.97
Lots of different, fun options. If you would rather have something with both ankle and high socks, this sock advent calendar is a great choice!
Book Lover 24-Day Advent Calendar – $21 – $26
You know I absolutely LOVE this one! Perfect for any reading enthusiasts! I really love that they give the option to purchase one that is empty, allowing you to fill it up yourself with little reading trinkets. Or go the other route for a few more dollars and have it already filled with bookmarks, ornaments and literary surprises! This one takes a bit to ship, so order early!
Jacquie Lawson’s Digital Advent
This a an advent calendar we have done for years with our girls and they still love it! It’s so inexpensive and so beautifully done. And there is ABSOLUTELY no added clutter to your house. I wrote a whole post about it here if you want more information.
National Geographic Rocks and Minerals 24-Day Advent Calendar – $24.99
This is definitely an advent filled with treasures! 24 days of opening up a different polished rock, fossil or gem. The last day holds a special crystal that all rock lovers will enjoy!
Altard State Jewelry 10-Day Advent Calendar – $148
If you are giving this, can I come be a teenager in your household during the holidays?! This one is ridiculously expensive, but comes with some great pieces – earrings, necklaces and rings and is complete with a velvet jewelry box.

Ulta has few different advent options, including a 12-Days of Hydration by Hempz, 12-Days of Dazzle & Glow by Bobby Brown and a 12-Days of Nails by Le Mini Macaron
Gilmore Girls 25-Days of Surprises – $29.99
This was one of the top suggestions when I asked for suggestions on Instagram! I know that people who love Gilmore Girls, really LOVE Gilmore Girls. The adorable little pockets hold a daily trinket, magnet, patch, ornament, and tons more! Keep in mind this advent takes awhile to ship (2-ish weeks) so order early!
ELF 12-Day Williams Sonoma – $39.95
We all know how much Buddy the Elf loves his sugar, so I wouldn’t expect anything less than a candy filled advent calendar. A delicious way to get into the Christmas spirit.

Squishies are all the rage right now! If you are looking for something that isn’t Christmas themed, these bright, bold, squeezable prizes are just the ticket.
Daily Puzzle 12-Day Advent Calendar – $24
Galison puzzles are one of my favorite puzzle brands because of their fun images and great quality pieces. When I saw this puzzle a day advent, I was so thrilled! Each 80-piece puzzle is filled with whimsical holiday scenes that will get any teenager in the holiday spirit.
Christmas Through the Window 24-Day Puzzle Advent Calendar – $28
Another really great puzzle option is this Christmas Through the Window. It comes with double the amount of puzzles and in the end makes one entire Christmas scene! So delightful!
Woobles 12-Day Advent Calendar – $140 if pre-ordered
This is one of the more expensive advent recommendations, but everyone said it was 100% worth it! The advent calendar box gives you a cozy cabin scene and after you open each box, the box turns into furniture to decorate your woodsy cabin with! Such a fun idea!
Hallmark Harry Potter 12-Day Advent Calendar – $30
I’m obviously here for any Harry Potter advent calendar recommendations! This one is simple and comes with 12 Harry Potter ornaments to add to your tree each day!
Mochi Squishy 24-Day Advent Calendar – $19
Mochi squishies are all the rage right now and add in some holiday characters and I think you have a winning advent calendar!
Olive June 24-Day Nail Polish Advent Calendar – $75
If you’ve been around for awhile, you know how much I LOVE Olive and June nail polish (read about why I love it here)! Get some merry manis in the works with all of the festive polish colors and accessories to top off some Christmas-y nails!
Harry Potter 24-Day Jelly Beans – $32
This one had me at the Marauder’s Map cover! Not only does this one come with a handful of jelly beans to enjoy every day, but you can test your Hogwarts knowledge with the daily trivia question!
Fishing Reels 24-Day Advent Calendar – $30
Never would I have ever thought of this as an advent calendar, but I can see why someone who loves the outdoors and fishing specifically would love something like this!
Man Crate Jerky 25-Day Advent Calendar – $70
My whole family loves jerky and this would be a hit with us, regardless of our age! Trying a new flavor of jerky each day would be a great way to ring the holidays in.
Trader Joe’s 12-Days of Beauty – $20
This is another beauty advent calendar, but on a more affordable scale. Bath salts, lip balm, face masks, you name it, they probably have it in this calendar! This one feels like a no-brainer for a teenager who loves all things skin and body care!
Holiday Movie 25-Day Advent – $10
I love that this movie advent can involve the whole family! This printable download includes a list of suggested movie along with some family activities to do together. It also features some blank pages if you want to add in your favorite holiday movie, treat, etc! I don’t know very many teenagers that wouldn’t love a movie marathon!
Herbal Tea 24-Day Advent Calendar – $17
I’m not a tea drinker, but I know that those who are really love their tea. Having a nice, new cozy tea to drink every day during December, with a book sounds pretty dreamy to me!
Rubber Duck 24-Day Advent Calendar – $28
This is another one of those advent calendars I would have never thought of. 24 rubber ducks, all Christmas or winter themed!
Sugarfina 24-Day Advent Calendar– $55
Sugarfina always has such great stuff! I am a firm believer in giving gift cards to teachers for Christmas, but one year I threw in a box of Sugarfina candy with the gift cards because the candy is SO good!
Bonne Maman Jam 24-Day Advent Calendar – $45
If you have a foodie teenager, this 24-day spread is amazing! We always love a good taste testing and this would be perfect for trying out preserves we might not otherwise try!
Homemade Advent Calendar
And if you are someone who loves to put together things like this, there is always the option of making your own! There were great suggestions like sweet notes and coupons (i.e. get out of dinner clean up, go out to eat, etc.) you could have them open up daily!
What advent calendar would you pick for a teen?
We were given the Galison puzzle advent last year and it was perfect for busy holiday nights. My husband would start and the kids had to get ready for bed quickly to help. That advent actually got us started into puzzling and it’s a full on hobby now!

I can add one – a few years ago we received this as a gift and it remains one of the most beautiful I’ve seen, along with prompting us to remember to think of others first during the season of giving! We love it.
