One of my favorite things to do when my blog birthday rolls around each year (Everyday Reading just turned 20 a few days ago!) is look at what the most popular posts of the year are!
Here are the posts you loved most in 2026!
Some of these are new posts and some have been staples on the list for several years. Some of them are crazy popular because a reel about them goes viral on Instagram while some of them benefit from tons of Google search traffic or Pinterest!

The $5 gift guide has been incredibly high performing for the past couple of years (in fact, I’d estimate that fully 1/4 of my Instagram community found their way to Everyday Reading via the $5 gift guide from one year or another). Don’t miss the 2026 $5 gift guide that just launched this week!

This was the #2 post last year and I’m not surprised to see it in the top 3 again. My team and I work hard to keep it updated – adding libraries as we discover them and taking off ones if they change their policies.

I cannot (but also can!) believe this is so popular! It was a last minute gift guide idea a couple of years ago and so many people made terrific recommendations for gifts for tweens that aren’t toys! This has gone viral 3 years running!
