It’s not hard to be happy in October.
I love the cooler weather, the gorgeous changing leaves, and the beginning buzzes of holiday excitement.
Here are five things I’m extra loving right now!
FIVE Favorite Things for FALL
An Alarm Clock
I decided this fall that I was finally ready to make the leap to NOT sleeping with my phone next to my bed. Which meant I needed a real alarm clock. I wanted a good looking alarm that also didn’t cost a million dollars, and I feel like this one was the perfect combination. It looks great on my bedside table, you can set three separate alarms AND program them to only go off on weekdays, the beep is adjustable so I wake up to a nice, quiet sound, not startled out of bed with my heart pounding, and it was under $25. WIN. (Obviously, I have way too much to say about this alarm clock).
I am not a germaphobe but you can only read SO many things about your phone being dirtier than a toilet seat before you decide maybe it’s time for a better solution. We’d bought my dad a PhoneSoap for Father’s Day last year, so I ordered a basic one for my desk and now when I’m done for the night, I pop my phone inside and it sanitizes my phone while I head off to bed. Paired with a real alarm clock so that I don’t need my phone next to me all night long, it’s a beautiful system.
Waffle Weave Nightgown
I decided last year that I wanted a good pajama collection and I’ve been more than serious about this since then. It’s so nice to have a selection of comfortable and cute pajamas and the newest addition to my stash is this cozy nightgown. It’s under $35 and also comes in gray (it runs really true to size – I’m wearing my normal size which is an XS).
As things have slowly picked up again over the past few months, I’ve started setting reminders on Alexa so I don’t have to use any brain power to remember them. It’s so handy to have my Echo gently remind me about Ani and Tally’s Savvy Reading classes five minutes before they start. I also have a weekly reminder set for Revolution Math. I like to think of myself as pretty on top of things, but I tell you what, I can’t believe how often those reminders go off and I think, “I had COMPLETELY forgotten about that.”
My eyelashes aren’t terrible, but they aren’t great either. I started using Babe Lash serum about six weeks ago (a week after I started, I mentioned it to my mom and she was all “Oh, yes, that stuff works GREAT for me.” My mom is definitely cooler than I am) and I’ve been really impressed by how well it works! I use the serum at night and then put the Lash conditioner on in the morning before I put on my makeup – the serum helps your lashes grow longer, the conditioner helps them get thicker and stronger. Use the code JANSSEN for 20% off.
What are your favorite things this month? I’d love to hear!

Ha, cute to see that you set your temperature in Celsius on your clock. Canadian here, that’s what we use.
I love my new apron that just arrived today. It crosses in the back instead of hanging around the neck and it has side pockets.

Thanks for the alarm clock recommendation! Buying one for my birthday (because adults are fun like that, right?;)
This is awesome and I want the stuff. Except maybe the nightgown since I would probably die from heat here in Florida. That clock is so sexy looking though.
