It is that time of year where gifts for neighbors is top of mind!

If you want to give a little something to your neighbors to show how much you love and appreciate them without breaking the bank, this post is for you! I asked my Instagram audience for suggestions and ideas came pouring in – here are some of my favorite Christmas gifts for neighbors!

(P.S. If you want some food gifts for neighbors, I have a huge list right here!)

GIFTS FOR NEIGHBORS

Bath Salts – I’m not a huge bathers, but I know people that are and these bath salts would be such a fun gift for a whole family. I DO use shower steamers though and absolutely think they would make the best neighbor gifts.

Christmas Reading Chart with colored pencils – You know I love this answer! A fun activity to enjoy throughout the holidays!

Mrs Meyers seasonal hand soaps – These have made it on my $5 gift guide in the past and for good reason. Their seasonal ones smell so good, so cute and are so affordable. If you want to bump it up a little, add my favorite Geometry kitchen towels and use code JANSSEN15.

Cute Paper Plates – There’s something so nice about having some permission to not have to do dishes. I love this idea!

Plants from Trader Joes – Trader Joe’s really does have the best, most affordable and beautiful plants and flowers.

Travel tissue and hand sanitizer for the car – Have you seen these perfectly shaped kleenex canisters that fit in door cup holders? Pair it with a hand sanitizer and you have a great neighbor gift!

Giant Sparklers with a inspirational quote – This is straight up fun!

Stovetop potpourri – These are really easy to put together and make anyone’s home smell like the holidays. There are a lot of different combinations you can use, but this one is my favorite.

Wrapping paper & tape – It’s so nice to have some quality wrapping paper with a cute print on it and luckily there are SO many options when it comes to prints.

Homemade holiday scented Playdoh – This is a great idea, especially for homes with little kids. Plus I love the idea of it keeping the kids busy for a bit so the parents can get some stuff done!

Car Wash Tokens – I haven’t heard of this idea before and would absolutely love to receive this, since I hate paying for car washes.

Poinsettias – Poinsettias are the mums of Christmas and are just so pretty!

Sink Scrub from Our Best Bites – Easy, useful and inexpensive. Recipe for a perfect neighbor gift!

Family movie night – Add a popcorn bowl, bags of popcorn, and some candy and give your neighbors a family night together.

Amaryllis Bulb – I really really love plants, but the cherry on top is when the plant is very little maintenance. This is just that – no watering, no soil, no green thumb needed to care for this plant!

Lotto scratchers – There were a lot of people that mentioned this! How fun would it be to have a ticket that gives back?!

Wooden cutting board – Charcuterie boards are incredibly popular right now so giving a wooden board would be very on trend. I also love that it’s duel purpose and can be used every day.

Cute doormat – I may not have the fanciest of porches, but I do always have a cute doormat to greet people. You could go with a holiday style or something that could be used throughout the year.

Blanket – Who doesn’t love a cozy, new blanket? These ones come in tons of color options!

notepad

Notepad and pen – I make a new to-do list every single day on a physical notepad, so I LOVE this idea. These ones come in a pack of 6, making them less than $3 a piece!

Christmas book and order the same one in bulk so it’s cheaper – Of course you know I am delighted by this suggestion. For good Christmas book ideas, check out all of my Christmas book lists here!

Mini Puzzles – I’ve talked about these before and they are so darn tiny and adorable! They are even cuter in person if you can believe it and such great quality (the pieces snap in a hold together!)

New Year’s Eve kit – We always do chocolate fondue on New Year’s Eve, but upping the ante with some noise makers, poppers and crowns – my girls would die!

sonic gift cards

Gift card for a fast dinner – There is nothing quite like seeing 5:30 roll around and having no idea what to make for dinner. Save your neighbor’s from this for one night with this gift. Someone else mentioned to gift some Chick-Fil-A sauce with a gift card attached!

spot it travel

Card Game – We love a good game around here and would love to gift or receive this. You can find some great game ideas here! All of them we have played and love!

Holiday Card with a cookie recipe inside – Grab a cute festive card, along with a recipe card and write your favorite cookie recipe on it. These are my go-to chocolate chip cookies that we make all of the time!

Mini Box Cutters – I can’t tell you how many times I’ve suggested and given these out for gifts. They are so practical and get used all of the time!

Whisk with Hershey kisses and a note “We whisk you a Merry Kissmas!” – Simple to put together, useful and yummy!

NEIGHBORHOOD GROUP IDEAS

Conduct a neighborhood food/toy drive – The person that suggested it said they all go drop it off together and then go to the nearby theater together and drink hot cocoa. That sounds like a really fun night my whole family would love!

Suggest a local charity instead of gifts – I’ve heard of neighborhoods doing this and love the idea!

Get a rented dumpster for everyone to dump Christmas trash in – Everyone knows how much trash builds up during the holidays. I’m sure the garbage men would really appreciate this one too!

Nothing! – This is a perfectly acceptable answer!

I hope you found this list of gifts for neighbors helpful! And I’d love to hear if I missed any of your favorite gifts to give neighbors!
