Four Favorite Things for February

This has been such a mild winter and almost every day I say, “Winter is fine by me when it’s sunny and clear every day!”

My girls are hoping hard for snow, though, so that we can get some good skiing in this season.

FOUR Favorite Things for FEBRUARY

FLEKK CONTOUR PALATTE
I’ve never used a contour palette in my entire life (way too intimidating) but when Flekk Cosmetics released one, I was willing to give it a shot since their eyeshadow has changed my makeup life. And you guys. . . if it’s not too much to say, I think the contour is even BETTER than the eyeshadow. It’s the finishing touch to my makeup I didn’t even know I was missing. SHEARLING LINED ANORAK JACKET
I got this in my Stitch Fix box in the fall and allllmost sent it back but Bart convinced me to keep it. And. . . now I wear it almost every single day. It’s the perfect in-between jacket – not full on COAT but also still warm and cozy. Bart has kindly refrained from telling me “I told you so” every time I leave the house in it. It’s just SO good.

DESSERT PLATES
This was one of my favorite Christmas gifts this year – we don’t actually use them as dessert plates, but instead as small snack plates for the girls. Bart bought me 8 of them (two sets of 4) and it’s just so nice to have a plate that’s exactly the right size for serving up apples and peanut butter or a muffin or a slice of toast or some carrots and hummus. They make me happy every single day.

SPICY MANGO WITH JALAPENO CHICKEN SAUSAGE 
I have the same thing for breakfast every morning and have for the last 3+ years (recipe here) and it’s always good, but NOTHING makes it as good as this sausage. It’s only very mildly spicy – I’m not here for really spicy things – but the combination of sweet and savory just takes the whole dish to a new level. I look forward to it every single morning (and when I ran out last week, it was a sad day).
