4 Favorite Things for April (+ My Team’s Picks!)

I can’t believe April is almost over. That means May is just around the corner and with it all the fun Everyday Reading things that come in that month – the Summer Reading Guide, the Summer Reading Chart, and the 100 Picture books list!

I cannot wait!

In the meantime, here are some of the things I’m loving right now:

Dyson Cordless Stick VacuumDyson Cordless Stick Vacuum
I like to think of myself as very unlazy and the difference between having to plug in a vacuum and not having to plug it in should be virtually nothing. Turns out . . . it was a LOT different. I got this vacuum in January and I use it nearly daily. It’s just so easy to pop on and vacuum the playroom, the kitchen floor, the couch, or wherever else needs a quick spiff-up. Even my kids choose it every time over using a broom and get it out all the time. Plus, having a dock for it means it gets quickly and easily put away after use. It’s pricey but it’s been worth every penny so far.

Knock out shortsWorkout Shorts
We’re finally getting the shorts part of the year and I couldn’t be happier! I ordered these flowy shorts back before shorts weather was really on the horizon but now that it’s warming up I reach for them all the time. The first time I wore them to play pickleball with Ella, she commented multiple times on how much she loved the color (mine are Wisteria) and the fit. They really are fantastic! (My code is JANSSEN).

Babe lash primerBabe Lash Primer
I’m a long-time fan of their lash serum (it works like nothing else I’ve tried!) and their 4Real mascara is one of my top 2 all-time favorite mascaras, so when I saw they’d released a lash primer, I was instantly onboard to try it. And I LOVE it – it gives my lashes an extra boost and I’ve used it every day since it arrived. It’s noticeably better than the other brands I’ve tried in the past. Use the code JANSSEN!

Springtime puzzleSpringtime Puzzle
My parents sent us this puzzle for Easter and I absolutely loved it. Most of my puzzle collection is 1000 pieces, but a 500 piece is so great for when you want to knock a puzzle out in an evening or a day or two, rather than a week. This one is so happy and beautiful and I enjoyed every second of it!

And here are my team’s picks!

I might be alone on this, but I’m having a hard time with the wide leg trend. I’ve purchased MANY full length, wide leg pants and I can’t commit (my mind goes straight to JNCOs). However, I did find these wide-leg, high-waisted, ankle white jeans from Gap and I’m in love. Flattering, not see-through, comfy and just the right length for my 5’5 frame. They have been perfect for spring and I’m planning on wearing them all summer. I snagged them for 40% off, so if you have the patience, wait around for a sale – we all know Old Navy and Gap has 40% off on the regular.

happy happy houseplant plant foodIndoor Plant Food
I LOVE gardening outdoors, but I have never been able to keep a houseplant alive. Recently one of my girlfriends gave me some houseplant cuttings, because I’ve been desperate to try and add more plants into my home. I started adding this plant food to each of my waterings and so far I think it’s been the secret to keeping my plants alive for as long as they have! Did I read Janssen’s blog post about how she keeps her houseplants alive, for the advice? Why yes I did! (Use code EVERYDAYREADING for a discount).

Maternity Workout romperMaternity Workout Romper

I saw someone post and link this romper on Instagram and when I saw it was only $15 I figured it was at least worth a try. I was pretty skeptical about it until I tried it on and wore it to my rec center workout class. Surprisingly, I loved it! It is so soft, stretchy and comfortable. I love not having to deal with a waistband above or below my six month baby bump. I highly recommend to any other mamas out there!

  1. I just bought a corded stick vacuum, and it is incredible at how easy it is to clean my kitchen floor multiple times a day! I love it, and while the cord is a bit of a pain, it gets the job done and it was affordable for me (and I don’t have to store it near an outlet)! So glad you have an easy vacuum too!
