Happy Saturday!
It’s been a big week for Everyday Reading with a new site design – I hope it’ll make it easier to search or find exactly what you’re looking for!
AND it’s a big week for book deals – today is the last day of the Audible sale (this sale happens usually once a year and prices are SO LOW! You won’t want to miss audiobooks for as little as 76 cents! All the details about the sale plus some of my favorite picks here.
And here are some other great books on sale!
The Secrets of Happy Families by Bruce Feiler – ebook
This is one of my favorite parenting books, and it was part of the 2020 Everyday Reading Book Club! This is such a great book about making the most your time together. (Full review here)
Ragweed by Avi – audiobook
Avi is one of those authors that just writes great books. This is the prequel to his popular book Poppy. It is about a mouse named Ragweed who leaves his country home and ends up in the big city facing cats, skateboards, and lots of people! (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!).
Faking Christmas by Cindy Steel – audiobook
I blew through this one in a day and it’s a total delight. Olive and Miles are both high school English teachers and she cannot stand him – he’s stolen her title as most popular teacher and makes her work life nearly unbearable. But then, of course, the need for a fake boyfriend comes up and she uses his name to get her mom and sister to back off of setting her up with her ex-boyfriend during the holidays. Which would be fine until the REAL Miles shows up for the holiday celebrations. This one doesn’t go past kissing, so if that’s your speed, this book is perfect (and A+ for witty banter and lots of chemistry!).
Whose Body? by Dorothy L. Sayers – audiobook
Perfect for fans of Agatha Christie. When an amateur sleuth finds a dead body in a bathtub, he must find the link between that mystery and a missing financier. This is an absolute classic!
The Blonde Identity by Ally Carter – audiobook
This is one of my picks for the 2024 Everyday Reading Summer Reading Guide and I FLEW through it! It’s funny, romantic and just dang fun. I have to say, it’s a perfect summer listen. Since this is a Chirp audiobook, there is no membership or subscription required – just buy and listen!
The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street by Karina Yan Glaser – audiobook
We love this fun story about five siblings who are about to lose their beloved brownstone home in Harlem, thanks to a cantankerous (and mysterious) landlord who refuses to budge. (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!).
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson – audiobook
This was the 2021 July book for the Everyday Reading Book Club! It’s a fantasy YA novel which isn’t my usual genre, but it’s fun for me to use book club as a way to branch out a little more than I might normally! (Full Review here) (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!).
