A Valentine’s Headband Tutorial
When we unpacked everything last week, I stumbled on this little Valentine’s headband I made Ani last year.
And then I found the pictures I’d taken of it and remembered how ridiculously cute one-year-old Ani was (can you ever get tired of a redheaded baby?).
This headband is still going strong a year later (and eight months packed in a cardboard box). Plus you can make one in about ten minutes.
Supplies needed for a valentine’s day headband:
- Felt in the color of your choice (I used red)
- Metallic leather (or faux leather)
- Thin elastic
- Scissors
- Pin
- Sewing machine
- Thread the same color as your elastic
Cut out three felt hearts and one metallic heart. Set aside.
Using your baby’s head as a guide, mark how long you need your elastic to be to fit snugly around their head, leaving an extra 3/4 inch on each end.
Pin the ends together with a 3/4 inch overlap. Sew securely together with your sewing machine.
Pin your hearts in an overlapping pattern onto the elastic, with the metallic heart on top.
Sew in a straight line down through the hearts onto the elastic.
Remove the pins and let your tiny child be the most festive person in the house.
Okay, that's the cutest thing ever. I wish my daughter would wear headbands!
These are super cute! I can't believe how much older Ani looks now compared to these pictures! Where did you find that adorable gold fabric?
If only I hadn't been stupid and stopped putting headbands on Janni for a grand total of a month… so dumb!! She rips them off head faster than you can snap your fingers…
I would totally wear one of these myself! Maybe with smaller hearts and more of them, Love it!
