Bart got this as a gift from a friend for his birthday earlier this yea rand it is fantastic!

never enough book

Never Enough by Jennifer Breheny Wallace audiobook $7.99
This is an excellent book! Focused on kids needing adults to lessen the pressure of excellence and a successful adulthood, but more helping kids feel like they matter and have worth. I loved this one (and just did a 30 second book review of it yesterday!)

The Enchanted Hour by Meghan Cox Gurdon – audiobook $4.99
I love a good book about reading and this one was is so delightful. Tons of great research, anecdotes and fantastic encouragement to read to your kids all throughout their life. I am IN LOVE with this book and can’t stop recommending it.

when breath becomes air book

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi – audiobook $7.99
This memoir published after the author’s early death from lung cancer will basically rip your heart out, but also make you so glad to be alive. In the past, we’ve done family reunion book clubs and if we did another one, this would be in my top three book club suggestions for sure. (Full review here)

slow productivity book

Slow Productivity by Cal Newport – audiobook $8.99
I am a huge fan of Cal Newport’s books (Deep Work and Digital Minimalism are also fantastic!) and this one gave me SO MUCH to think about both in my work life and my personal life!

from the desk of zoe washington book

From the Desk of Zoe Washington by Janae Marks audiobook $5.99
This book got recommended after I read Just Mercy and then I saw it compared favorably to Front Desk (one of my favorite books from 2019) and it happened to already be on my shelf, so there was no way I couldn’t pick it up. It’s a quick read and I loved it. (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

the echo of old books

Echo of Old Books by Barbara Davisebook $2.49
This one was on the Summer Reading Guide this year! In this dual timeline book, Ashlyn, the owner of an inherited antique bookstore, has a special gift. She can feel the echoes of a book’s previous owner just by touching its pages. After rummaging through a box of donated books, Ashlyn finds two old books which pique her interest and begins a hunt to find the origin of their stories. It appears the two books were unpublished, but packed with a story of forbidden love, regret, and betrayal, each written by one side of the couple. The two narrators make this one extra fun.

The Anxious Generation

The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt audiobook $8.99
I listened to this audiobook at the start of summer and it was a perfect way to kick off the new season because it talks so much about allowing kids to have a play-based childhood instead of a screen-based childhood. And frankly, so much for me to think about in my own behavior and habits, especially when my work is so much online.

the dutch house

The Dutch House by Ann Patchett – audiobook $4.99
I haven’t read this one, but SO many people suggested it for a great cozy fall read! This one is narrated by Tom Hanks, which I’m sure makes the audio outstanding!
