What I Wore in France
For our France trip, I packed a mid-size suitcase (we planned to all take carry-ons but the night before we left, Bart texted me and said “I want more space” and if HE was going to take a bigger suitcase, well, so was I).
The most worn item I packed was my lilac cashmere sweater. It worked as a top on cooler days in more central France and then as a great layer for cool evenings and mornings when we were on the coast. Because it’s cashmere, it held its shape beautifully and didn’t get sweaty or too hot.
I also took five pairs of shoes (that sounds excessive but two of them were sandals that were completely flat and took up almost no room at all) and I really ended up wearing only my Nike Killshots (these are the no-show socks I wear with all my sneakers) and my beloved old Cold Haan sandals 95% of the time – those sandals are long sold out since I bought them on clearance 4 years ago, but this pair is really similar. I should have just brought those two pairs of shoes.
We didn’t do laundry at all on this trip – the only thing I washed was a spot clean on my Spanx sweatshirt which I did in the hotel sink and dried overnight.
I took two pairs of pajamas, but I only wore my Tommy John pajamas (my all-time favorite pajamas) every single night of the trip.
I also used this little crossbody bag every single day (my affiliate code is JANSSEN) – I love it because I can fit my wallet, phone, basic Kindle, this tiny water bottle plus some chapstick.
I wore this necklace and this necklace every day of the trip, plus these bracelets (which I wear pretty much every day) and wore this pair of earrings every single day (I took the 16mm and my affiliate code is JANSSEN).
All of these outfits felt just right to me – I never felt like I looked like I was trying too hard or overdressed but I never felt embarrassingly underdressed either (Europe is quite a bit dressier than the US – you don’t see people wandering around in leggings, athleisure or joggers, unless they’re American tourists) .
And all of these are outfits I would or have worn at home, so I always felt comfortably like ME, which is always my goal when I travel!

If you want another high quality pair of Cole Haan sandals that are like these, this is another option. It doesn’t have the buckle but it’s on sale and looks really similar to the ones Janssen is wearing. https://www.shoemall.com/product/cole-haan-peyton-flatform-women-s-/1375273
