4 Favorite Things (+ My Team’s Picks!)

It’s wild that September is almost over!

To me, September feels like the buffer month between back to school and the insanity of the holiday season.

Here are some of my favorite things right now:

Waterproof Sneakers
My siblings gave me these shoes for my birthday and they INSTANTLY became a favorite. I’ve had my eye on them for a long time, since the first time my sister Merrick wore them, and they’re everything I hoped for! They’re cute and comfy and waterproof, which is great for the rainy and snowy months ahead, plus they come in several fun colors (my sister has this color way – I have this color way).

Yoto Traveling Cases
We have lots of travel coming up over the next six months, so I bought a Yoto traveling case for each of my kids and they’ve already been WELL used! It is so nice to have a dedicated spot to store the cord, player and cards when you’re on the go and also so they don’t get accidentally turned on in a backpack or suitcase.

Mildew Remover
A few months ago, I noticed that a lot of mildew was starting to appear around the seals in our shower (I know, so gross). We’re hoping to re-do our bathroom sometime in the next year, but I didn’t want to live with that mildew in the meantime. Bart ordered this gel, applied it to all the seams in our shower and voila! No more mildew. It makes me happy every single time I take a shower to see it looking all clean again!

$3 Workout App
For the last six years, I’ve been going to a strength training class a few mornings a week, but this summer I suddenly was just DONE getting up so early to go to it. I really wanted to be able to wake up at the same time every day rather than going between early and REALLY early. I’d been using this workout app (which is only $3 for a whole year!) Off and on for years to fill in on days when I skipped my gym class but now I’m using it instead of going to the gym and it’s just been THE best thing to do strength training classes at home (they also have cardio, barre, yoga, and so many other classes included in the membership!).

And here is what my team is loving right now!

ANALESE

Stainless Steel Multi-Purpose Slicer
We eat a lot of strawberries and kiwis around here and I wanted the cutting process to go quicker and allow the kids to help. We use this every single day. It cuts the fruit into perfect symmetrical slices and works great for fruit parfaits, acai bowls, oatmeal and my personal favorite – strawberries, coconut and chocolate chips.

KELSEY

BoxOrganizer App
With my kids back at school, I finally have the time to organize all the storage bins we have up in our attic! I have been loving this free app that allows you to organize by taking pictures of items you are adding to your storage bins. When you need something, you search for it and the app tells you what bin it is in (or I find it really helpful when shopping for kids clothes, holiday items, or books – I know what I already have and don’t end up with duplicates). You can also print off QR codes to tape on the outside of your bins so you can find any item inside by easily scanning it.

JENNIFER

Baby Carrier

Ergobaby Embrace Baby Carrier
I recently had my third baby and we’ve taken her on several big hikes. My old ergo baby carrier just wasn’t very comfortable and I upgraded to this one in the soft air mesh and haven’t regretted it for a minute. It’s so much more comfortable for me and for our baby.

KRISTIN

Pentel 8-Color Pencil
This colored pencil is a huge hit in our house. We mostly use ours for highlighting books and scriptures because it doesn’t bleed through the page but they’re also great for coloring and art projects. The lead is refillable, so it’s easy to add more of whatever colors you use most often. It’s a bit tricky to get the hang of how to swap colors at first, but my 8 year old twins figured it out and use theirs with no problem!
