Easy Chocolate Covered Marshmallows

When we lived in North Carolina, Ella got invited to a little birthday party and came home with a bag of giant chocolate covered marshmallows with sprinkles in the party colors and it was just so darn cute.

And for a three year old, the idea of a giant marshmallow was pretty much her idea of heaven.

I’d never even seen a giant marshmallow before, but my friend told she’s just picked them up at Walmart and since then I’ve bought them all across the country (they’re just with the regular marshmallows in the baking aisle).

Or you could certainly make chocolate covered marshmallows with standard size marshmallows.

Only attempt mini marshmallows if you want to spend the rest of your life dipping.

These chocolate covered marshmallows are super simple to make and are the perfect holiday project for kids to help with.

how to make chocolate covered marshmallows

A bunch of bowls of toppings and giant marshmallows? This is a one-way ticket to childhood bliss.

Plus, there are so many ways to use them.

You can use them in a mug of hot chocolate for a little added specialness or add a couple onto a cookie plate or make a plate of them and use them as a neighbor gift along with a can or box of hot cocoa mix.

Or, like my friend did when she used them as a party favor, you can poke a candy stick into the top, put the whole thing in a clear treat bag and tie a festive ribbon on them.

You can even pour some hot cocoa mix in the bottom of the bag and voila! A cup of steaming festiveness in a bag.

If you’re throwing a hot chocolate party, they’re an ideal favor or if you want to give a small gift to the members of your book club or your children’s friends, you can’t get easier than this.

Basically, I just love these chocolate covered marshmallows. Amen.
