Book Deals for the Weekend of June 6th
This has felt like our first full week of summer since last week we were out of town for the first few days enjoying summer in Idaho.
It’s been full of water park trips, swim team starting, pickleball, and puzzles on the back deck.
And, of course, some good reading!
There are some great book deals going on and the one I most want you to know about is the annual summer audiobook sale on kids books. This is the time to stock up for road trips or home listening, plus you can make these into You cards! I have a whole post with my favorite picks from the sale.
Here are some other book deals you won’t want to miss:

The Wild Robot by Peter Brown – audiobook – $4.99
The girls and I listened to this fun audiobook a few years ago and I’ve heard from SO MANY families that have loved this one too. And now with the movie out, it’s a great one to read the book and watch the movie!

As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride written and narrated by Cary Elwes with Joe Layden – audiobook – $6.99
If you grew up with The Princess Bride like I did, there almost can’t be a more fun book than this one. I LOVED all the behind-the-scenes about the making of this movie. After I convinced Bart to listen to it too, we watched the movie again and loved it even more, knowing so many funny things about various scenes and actors. Best of all, they managed to get almost the entire original cast to record their stories in the book, so hearing their voices is an extra bonus. (Full review here)

Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield – audiobook – $4.99
This bestseller was one of the first books I read after I finished my undergrad degree and started reading in earnest again. It definitely has that Gothic feel to it and so many unexpected twists. Vera Winter is a famous novelist and has never told the real story about her life until her death is approaching and she asks a young woman she doesn’t know to be the one to write her real biography.

Tom Lake by Ann Patchett – audiobook – $4.99
This was Analese’s (from the Everyday Reading team) favorite book of 2025. I probably wouldn’t have picked this up because I’ve only read one other Ann Patchett book (The Magician’s Assistant) and I did NOT care for it. But then my friend Jessica called me to say “YOU MUST READ THIS” so I picked it up and I loved it. It’s maybe a bit slower than my normal reading picks, but it worked beautifully for me! The audio is done by Meryl Streep, so the audiobook is fantastic! (I did a 30-second book review of it here.)

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson – audiobook – $6.99
Just Mercy is a non-fiction account by lawyer Bryan Stevenson of one of his early cases trying to exonerate a man on Death Row, plus a look at the current state of the U.S. justice and prison systems. It’s no exaggeration to say that this book changed my life. I think it should be required reading for every person.

Be Ready When the Luck Happens by Ina Garten – audiobook – $4.99
I love a memoir read by the author and Ina Garten is just such a delight to listen to and a wonderful storyteller. I blew through this on a plane flight and it made the hours fly by. I love hearing how many of you loved this one this last year too!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – audiobook – $3.99
This one is just so good about a young woman who lives in Prague as an art student by day, while by night she goes around the world collecting human teeth for the non-human monster who raised her. Just prepare to be completely sucked in by this magical story (and then read the rest of the trilogy). (Full review here)

Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty – ebook – $2.99
This is one of my picks for the 2026 Summer Reading Guide! A women on a plane stands up and begins predicating the the age and manner of death of all of her fellow passengers. It’s really good!
