What We Gave Star for Her 10th Birthday
Ten years ago, Star was born on a wildly snowy and icy night in North Carolina (so much so that most of the doctors and nurses couldn’t leave the hospital and slept in empty hospital rooms!).
She was the happiest, easiest baby and we said all the time that she felt like the whole family’s baby – we were all just obsessed with her.
And frankly, we still are.
Star and Tally are the best of friends and play non-stop together all day long (and love playing with the 8-10 other girls their ages that live nearby).
Bart and I say almost daily how FUN this situation is for them!

STUFFED CAT CHAIR
Bart picked this out for Star and it was a hit!
SCOOTER
Most of the little girls in our neighborhood have scooters and Star was really hoping for one so she could zip around with them. Birthday wish granted!
TEVA SANDALS
The day before our Costa Rica trip, Star realized her sandals from last summer were all too small and we bought her a cheap pair that broke before our trip was over. I returned those and ordered her a nice pair that she can wear all summer long!
RUBBER BALL
A neighbor kid popped our four square ball when he put a chicken on top of it and the little talons went right in. She’d been hoping for a new one and Tally made her birthday wishes come true!
MINI WHITEBOARD AND MARKERS
This was Ani’s gift to Star and it was a huge hit – Star has been playing school all week long with it!
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY PUZZLE
Star has had a special affinity for Guardians since she was Mantis for Halloween a few years back. This puzzle felt like a perfect gift from Ella to Star!
DRESS WITH POCKETS
This dress was a gift from my parents and it is so darling! Perfect for spring and summer.
LEGO 3-IN-1 WATERING CAN SET
This was the second of my parents’ gifts to Star – they normally just do one gift but since there won’t be Grancie Camp this summer (which always includes a new LEGO set!), they sent her one too.
LITTLE BO IN FRANCE
Bart’s parents always give their grandkids books for their birthday and this was the pick this year – it is so sweet and charming!
