What We Gave Tally for Her 7th Birthday
It is an unreal feeling for your baby to turn seven years old.
You’re fully out of the baby, toddler and even preschool years.
We waffled so much about whether or not to have a fourth baby and going ahead with one last pregnancy was the best decision – I can’t imagine our family or our lives without this little spitfire!
As the youngest, she’s been my little sidekick for so many years and I’ve loved all the one-on-one time we’ve had together (in fact, last year when our elementary school offered full-day kindergarten for the first time, we opted for the half-day class instead because I wasn’t ready for her to go for that many hours yet and I’m so glad we had that extra time together).
She is a great little traveler (this photo is from our trip to Paris a few months ago), she loves books and reading, and she’s always doing her best to keep up with her older sisters.
Here’s what we gave her for her seventh birthday last week.
gifts for 7 year old girl
A BIKE HELMET
Her old bike helmet was getting a little small plus it was Frozen themed and she was always borrowing one of her sisters’ helmets, so we upgraded her to one that felt more big kid and she was THRILLED.
LETTERS STICKER BOOK
Star has one of these books and Tally always wanted to use it. She was delighted to open the package and find her own and she’s been busily writing notes with the stickers for the last week. (This is a GREAT roadtrip activity book too!).
JUMP ROPE
When I’d asked Tally what she wanted for her birthday, a jump rope was top of her list. She loves using the school ones during recess and we’ve been all using hers nonstop for the last week, trying out different tricks and challenging each other to try various techniques. A hit of a gift for sure!
LIGHT UP TRACING PAD
This was Ella’s gift to Tally and it’s been a hit. All four girls spent hours on Sunday afternoon playing with it together.
SHAPE SHIFTING MAGNETIC BOX
My parents gave one of these to Ani for her 11th birthday a few months ago and so Ani’s gift to Tally was one of her own. This one has arctic animals on several sides and it’s been played with endlessly. It’s especially popular during read alouds before bedtime.
AMERICAN GIRL DOLL TRAVEL SET
My two little girls are spending hours every day right now playing with their American Girl dolls and so Star was very excited to pick out this little travel set with two outfits, a tiny suitcase, and other accessories like a camera and neck pillow. It gives me such happy flashbacks to my own childhood playing American Dolls endlessly with my sisters.
LEMON DRESS
This was my parents’ gift to Tally and she was thrilled about it from the half-sleeves to the pockets. Pretty sure it’ll be on rotation all spring and summer long!
THE FIRST NOTES: THE STORY OF DO, RE, MI
My in-laws always give their grandchildren books for their birthdays and this was the one they gave Tally this year. My mother-in-law read it aloud to all my kids when they came over for birthday gifts on Sunday night and it was a hit. It’s written by Julie Andrews which is especially fun.
