This week Audible has a big sale going on with tons of books on sale for $5 or $6 and many at $3!
If you’re looking to bulk up your audiobook collection, there isn’t a better time to buy than now.
Here’s what you need to know about the Audible sale.
- You need to be an Audible Premium Plus subscriber to access the sale prices. If you aren’t a current member, you can sign up for a free month here (or they may offer you a 99 cents for 3 months deal – if they do, TAKE IT!).
- The sale ends Friday night! Do not wait if you want to snatch up some titles – they’ll all go back up at midnight tonight.
- If you purchase on the Amazon site, here’s how to pay for it with money instead of credits. It is going to default to wanting you to spend a credit, but if you scroll down just a bit, you’ll see the option to buy with cash instead. It looks like this:
Anyway, with those things out of the way, here are some of the titles I’m excited about – you can see the whole sale section here if you’d like to scope the entire list out.
The Best Audiobooks in Audible’s Sale
For Kids
The Candy Shop War by Brandon Mull – $3.42
10 hours and 26 minutes
My girls listened to this non-stop from the library last year and this price means we can own it ourselves now!
Frindle by Andrew Clements – $4.70
1 hour 40 minutes
Andrew Clements is just a master of the school story, and this is his most popular one, about a boy who wants to get his whole school calling pens “frindles.”
I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor, 1941 by Lauren Tarshis – $4.36
1 hour 12 minutes
If you have a non-fiction lover, these short middle grade books about big historical events are really fun and high action. They’re a perfect fit for reluctant readers, especially those with low patience for made up stories. (All the books in the series are on sale!).
Bunnicula: A Rabbit-Tale of Mystery by James Howe – $4.72
1 hour 34 minutes
This is such a perfect Halloween listen – it’s not too long, and it’s not overly scary, just the right amount spooky. The ideal Halloween read alouds or listens!
Rise of the Earth Dragon by Tracey West – $3.82
48 minutes
Clocking in at almost an hour, this fantasy adventure is perfect for an afternoon at home or a lot of errands around town in the car. Most of the books in the series are this incredible price!
Zoey and Sassafras collection by Asia Citro – $9.25
6 hours and 11 minutes
A series with magical animals, science, and mystery? My girls were INSTANT fans of this book series where Zoey and her cat sidekick Sassafras help a magical animal using science. 6 books in this collection.
The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden – $7.27
3 hours and 18 minutes
This book is a great book for any elementary schooler! With a fun story about a cat, mouse and a cricket, this trio is hard to not love with all of their adventures!
The View From Saturday by Jenna Lamia – $7.90
4 hours and 41 minutes
This is the first book I remember reading as a child and thinking “This is a really well written book.” This one is definitely for kids more in the middle grade age range. There are four main characters and it follows each family and how they intertwine. It’s a great one!
A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen – $2.99
7 hours 11 minutes
From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by J.L Konigsburg – $7.90
3 hours and 45 minutes
I had read part of this book but never finished it as a child. We first listened to it as a family and it was a DELIGHT! I just loved every bit of this book about two siblings that run away from home and live, undetected, in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
A Single Shard by Linda Sue Parks – $7.88
3 hours and 12 minutes
When I was working more seriously on reading all the Newbery winners, I picked this one up, knowing exactly nothing about it. A story about potters in 12th century Korea might not sound thrilling but this book is PHENOMENAL. I listened to it again with my girls a few years ago and we all were entranced. I may have gotten teary in the driver’s seat multiple times. (Full review here)
The Never Girls Audio Collection, Volume 1 by Kiki Thorpe – $2.99
8 hours 6 minutes
My girls have listened to this series a bazillion times in the last few years. It’s a series by Disney about four best friends who get whisked off to Never Land with Tinkerbell and her fairy friends. This collection includes the first six books.
Nothing Else but Miracles by Kate Albus – $2.99
7 hours 17 minutes
Her book A Place to Hang the Moon, was my favorite read aloud from 2022, and this is her newest historical fiction title. This one is also set during World War II, following three siblings in New York City, as their father leaves to fight in the war. I read it aloud to my girls and we all loved it!
For Adults
The Measure by Nikki Erlick – $5.99
10 hours and 57 minutes
When I read this book, I could not stop thinking about it! One morning everyone (and by everyone, I mean the entire world) wakes up to find a box on their doorstep, and in that box is a single string. That string is the measurement of life – how long you have to live. Some characters look at their strings wanting to know the exact year and month they would live to. Others keep their strings hidden away living everyday like we normally would, never knowing when the end is. It really puts “live each day to the fullest” into perspective. The audio is narrated by Julia Whelan (which is phenomenal), and has a full cast of characters.
Stolen Focus by Johann Hari – $5.99
10 hours and 21 minutes
I read this a few months ago and was absolutely blown away! This non-fiction book explores the ways that technology is impacting us in every way. How we act, decision make, interact with others and so much more. It gives some advice on how to reclaim your focus and attention and I loved every minute of it!
Very Sincerely Yours by Kerry Winfrey – $5.99
10 hours and 6 minutes
I was underwhelmed (understatement) by her first book, Finding Tom Hanks, so I had low expectations for this one and then it just absolutely charmed me! This one has a “You’ve Got Mail” vibe where two strangers strike up a correspondence relationship, without realizing they know each other in real life too. Teddy works at a vintage toy store and feels like she has nothing going for her in her life. Everett runs a local children’s TV show that Teddy watches religiously. It’s charming and funny and all the things I love in a romantic comedy book.
We Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers – $5.99
8 hours and 40 minutes
This one made it onto last year’s Everyday Reading Book Club list! You know I love a good money book and this one is one of my all-time favorites. It’s a fun read and quite different than a lot of the money books I’ve read in the past. It’s full of practical tips, not just high level information and Rachel Rodgers, a mother of four, attorney, and self-made millionaire, shares what’s she’s learned on her own path to seven figure status, plus how she’s helped hundreds of other women do the same. I love her writing style and how she debunks lots of the bad financial advice you’ve probably heard throughout your life. And if you feel like it’s wrong to want to be a millionaire, she’ll debunk that for you too!
The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner – $5.99
10 hours and 39 minutes
This one also made it on the Everyday Reading Book Club, but in 2021! I LOVED Susan Meissner’s book As Bright as Heaven and this historical fiction book is so good! It follows three women during the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 and is such a great story!
You’re Not Listening by Kate Murphy – $4.99
6 hours and 39 minutes
This was one of my favorite books I read in 2019! I feel like this is one of those books basically everyone should read – I read it on a couple’s trip and talked Bart’s ear off about it the whole time.
The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver – $5.99
11 hours and 51 minutes
Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson – $7.29
9 hours and 8 minutes
I read regency romance . . . never. But this one delighted me (and her other book, Blackmoore, is only $7.05!). (Full review here)
The Unsinkable Greta James by Jennifer E. Smith – $5.99
8 hours 15 minutes
Greta James is a successful indie musician – or at least she was, until her mom died and she publicly fell apart on stage. Now her brother has roped her into going on a cruise with their dad (a cruise that was supposed to be for her parents’ 40th anniversary), and she unwillingly goes along. Not only is she struggling to put the pieces of her professional life together, but she’s not thrilled about spending a week with her dad, who always thought her choice of career was unstable and risky, and now she seems to have proven him right.
Admission by Julie Buxbaum – $5.99
8 hours 55 minutes
This YA novel is based on the college admissions bribery scandal from a few years ago and follows Chloe who has it all, including admission to the school of her dreams. Until the FBI comes knocking and her mom is under arrest. Now the real question is . . .is Chloe guilty too?
