7 Books Deals for the Start of Spring
After being away for the last couple of weeks, it is SO NICE to be home and have a pretty quiet weekend (plus our annual Pi Day party a little late since we were gone for the actual day!).
There are some great book deals going on right now – especially don’t miss the Audible 99 cent deal going on right now, PLUS you can stack it with the Audible 2-for-1 sale (my favorite picks from the sale here!).
Here are some other book deals you won’t want to miss!
My Double Life by Janette Rallison
I recommend Janette Rallison all the time when people ask for clean book recommendations. She’s so funny and her books are just 100% delightful! For me, her books are laugh-out loud funny and this one about a teen girl who takes a job doubling for a rock star, is a delight. (If you are looking for more books like this, I did an entire post of my favorite YA romance books here!)
Christmas with the Queen by Hazel Gaynor & Heather Webb
A Christmas book in March? You must think I am crazy! But while it is on sale, this is the perfect time to snag the December book for the 2025 Everyday Reading Book Club. I loved their book Last Christmas in Paris and I’m so thrilled about this Christmas historical fiction title. This story is set in 1952 where young Queen Elizabeth II finds herself as the new monarch and is preparing for her radio broadcast on Christmas Day as postwar Britain changes around her.
Get Lucky by Katherine Center
One of my favorite authors in the last few years has been Katherine Center. She writes delight romance books with witty banter and a deeper romance. In this one, Sarah ends up jobless after accidentally sending an inappropriate email, so she decides to take a trip to visit her sister, Mackie. Mackie has given up all hope to conceive a baby, but Sarah comes up with the perfect plan to fix both of their problems. (If you’re looking to try out more Katherine Center, I did a ranking of all her books I’ve read here)!
Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams
This is a fun crossover book from When in Rome, but both books can stand alone. In this fun fake dating romance, seemingly happy flower shop owner Annie Walker enlists the help of dangerous, but sexy bodyguard Will to be Annie’s “dating coach”. Let’s just say she has a fear of first dates. Problem is they start to develop feelings for each other that go beyond just dating practice.
Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson
I’d say that generally I’m not drawn to books with descriptions like “sweeping family saga”, but this one has such great reviews from readers that it has been on my TBR list since it came out!
The Davenports by Krystal Marquis
The year is 1910 and the Davenport family is one of the few Black families at the time with great wealth in the US, having made their fortune in the automobile industry. The eldest daughter is ready to wed, the youngest daughter just wants to fix cars (very unladylike), and their maid dreams of opening her own business (and is secretly madly in love with the Davenport brother). This historical fiction book is fascinating and lots of fun, plus it’s based on the real-life Patterson family – I included it on the Summer Reading Guide a few years ago!
Tom Lake by Ann Patchett
This was Analese’s (from the Everyday Reading team) favorite book of the year. I probably wouldn’t have picked this up because I’ve only read one other Ann Patchett book (The Magician’s Assistant) and I did NOT care for it. But then my friend Jessica called me to say “YOU MUST READ THIS” so I picked it up and I loved it. It’s maybe a bit slower than my normal reading picks, but it worked beautifully for me! The audio is done by Meryl Streep, so it’s no surprise that it a favorite audiobook! (I did a 30-second book review of it here.)
