4 Favorite Things for August (+ my team’s picks!)

I can’t believe August is almost over.

We’ve been soaking up the sunshine and squeezing in as many pool trips and boating evenings as we can before the weather really turns, while also getting into a routine with homeschool.

Here are some of my favorite things this month!

4 Favorite Things for August

Bow Earrings
I got these earrings recently from Hey June (where virtually all of my jewelry is from) and I cannot get over how cute they are. They’re super lightweight but so fun – I’ve worn them almost every day since I got them. My affiliate code is JANSSEN.

LCD Tablets
I got these for the girls for school this year (each of them has one) and they’ve been SO GREAT for replacing much of the paper use related to math and spelling and more. The best part is that I don’t end up with half-used papers all over the house. They’re on super sale right now ($2.50 each in the 2 pack!) and they’re so good for travel or church bags or going to a restaurant. At this price, it’s the time to snag a bunch for gifts too!

All Round Champion Season 6
We’ve been watching this show for several years and now that Season 6 is out, we’ve been enjoying watching it as a family. It’s free to watch through BYUtv and we’ve had so many great conversations about sportsmanship, trying new things, facing fears, and things not going according to plan. It’s been one of our favorite shows to all watch together!

Sneakers
My mom brought me these cute sneakers when she was up here last weekend (she’d bought them in a 6 because some of the reviews said they ran big – she’s a 6.5 – and they were too small for her but fit me perfectly since I’m a size 6). I’ve been wearing them nonstop because they’re so cute and so comfy. I can’t believe they’re so inexpensive (under $20!), plus they come in a ton of fun colors. They’re perfect for fall as sandal season waves goodbye.

ANALESE

Aveeno Kids Face & Body Cream
From all of the sunscreen this summer and just being outside so much, my kids needed something gentle to moisturize their skin (specifically their faces) after showering or before bed. I didn’t want to go down the expensive skincare path with them at all, so we tried this and have loved it. We love the smell, how it makes their skin feel and the price tag of less than $8 for a big bottle!

KELSEY

Wide Leg Denim Pants
I don’t know why it took me so long to buy a pair of wide leg pants. This is my first pair and I am OBSESSED! I have been eyeing the Anthropologie Collette pants, but at under $30, this pair felt like a lower risk option to try first before investing. I currently own them in white, and when they went on sale, I proceeded to buy them in olive and black (which I think will be great as we transition into fall). I am taller (5’9) and they are so flattering, fun, and fit true to size. On a side note: they do not have front pockets. I don’t usually use my front pockets often, so it is not a major deal breaker for me.

KRISTIN

COSRX Snail Mucin Essence
I kept hearing about this serum but hadn’t tried it because putting snail mucin on my face grossed me out! I’m glad I finally got over my fear though because it’s made a huge difference to my skin’s brightness and smoothness. I also use the BHA Exfoliant Toner from the same brand and it’s great too.

JENNIFER

CRZ Yoga Wide Leg Pants. I am about a month postpartum and was looking for some cute, stylish pants, that were still cool and comfortable. These pants fit that bill perfectly! I ordered them in a pretty sage green color, but I would love to grab the black and navy ones too. The light, quick dry fabric is perfect for summer but will also transition nicely through the first part of fall.
