The Skincare Products My Teen and Tween Use
One of the funny things about an online life is that you never know what people will be wildly interested in!
Skincare for tweens and teens was NOT on my bingo card but I get DMs literally every single day asking about the skincare and acne products my 12 and 14 year old daughters use.
I’ve tried to keep their skincare simple and clean and these are the products that have been the most effective for them!
They usually basically two things: a face wash and moisturizer from Bubbl (both of which I love for being affordable, effective and gentle)!
This is the face wash and this is the moisturizer!
The other skincare product both my teen and tween use is called AO2 Clear. I’d actually gotten sample packs of it and never used it (but I’d handed it over to Ella to try if she wanted) and when the brand reached out asking to work together I told them I hadn’t used it and wasn’t interested.
THE NEXT DAY, Ella said “That AO2 has totally cleared up my acne – can you order me some more?”
And when I looked at her skin, which had started to suffer over the last several months, I realized she was right! All the little red bumps and breakouts were gone!
So then I had to send an email back to the brand saying, “Um, ignore that last email – I’d love to work together.”
After a few months, Ani complained to Ella about her skin starting to break out more and Ella suggested she try AO2 also. Now both of them are the biggest fans!
The basics of AO2 is that it is made from only 2 ingredients – distilled water and billions of oxygen nanobubbles (plus loads of scientific research). It works by flooding your pores with oxygen which stops the proliferation of bacteria growth that causes acne and blemishes which leads to fewer breakouts and faster healing. Pretty magical!
The order they use their skincare in is:
- Wash with Cream Cleanser
- Apply AO2 (my affiliate code is JANSSEN) and let dry for 4-5 minutes. Usually they brush their teeth while it dries.
- Finish with Slam Dunk Moisturizer
