11 Book Deals for the Last Week of July

I’m feeling like summer is starting to wrap up (and I’m so sad about it!).

Swim team is over for one of my daughters, our summer trips are in the rear view mirror and it is really time for me to figure out the last details for this year of homeschool!

And I’ve read almost nothing the last couple of weeks since we’ve spent so much time playing pickleball, having birthday celebrations for my oldest daughter and going to the lake.

I’m hoping to squeeze in some good book time this weekend – here are some of my favorite books on sale this weekend!

(And the Audible free 3 month deal is just about to end – grab it now or check again if you weren’t eligible before! Plus there is an Audible 2-for-1 sale going on right now to make your credits go extra far!)

The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits by Jennifer Weiner – ebook – $1.99
This one really sucked me in (and broke my heart)! Sisters Cassie and Zoe skyrocketed to fame as the Griffin Sisters in the early 2000s, only to vanish from the spotlight after a sudden and unexplained breakup. Now, two decades later, Zoe’s daughter is determined to uncover the truth, forcing all three women to reckon with the past.

tangled up in you

Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren – audiobook – $6.99
This one was so light and fluffy (it is a retelling of Disney’s Tangled) but it was just SO FUN and enjoyable and one of those books that I blew through in 2 days because it was just pure delight. Funny, romantic, and clever. I can’t ask for more!

never enough book

Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic-and What We Can Do About It by Jennifer Breheny Wallace – audiobook – $5.99
I highly recommend this one (it graced my 2025 Summer Reading Guide)! It is one of the most eye-opening parenting books I’ve read—it digs into how achievement culture is affecting our kids and what they really need instead to feel like they matter. The mix of research, real-life stories, and practical tips had me constantly pausing to read huge chunks aloud to my husband (and even in one case handing him the book to read a whole chapter!). It’s a must-read for anyone raising or working with kids in today’s achievement driven world, plus it is really readable.

a good girl's guide to murder book

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson – audiobook – $5.99
High school senior Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then killed himself five years ago. It was a huge story, but Pip, now a senior herself, feels like something is wrong about the well-known story. And she’s going to be the one to find out what REALLY happened. I listened to the first two books in the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series (the audio is terrific – it’s a full-cast production and really brings the story to life. Highly recommend!).

summer of the monkeys

Summer of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls – audiobook – $4.99
This was our family audiobook listen on our recent road trip to Mount Rushmore and although I read it when I was a kid and remember loving it, I don’t remember almost anything about the plot so it’s fun to re-listen with my kids who are very into it (my 8 year old especially is ALL IN). This is the same author as Where the Red Fern Grows.

The Power of Moments book

The Power of Moments by Chip Heath & Dan Heath – audiobook – $5.99
This was the December book for the 2024 Everyday Reading Book Club and I blew through the audiobook in 24 hours. It’s not very long but it is super readable and so applicable to parents, families, and individuals. How DO you create more memorable and meaningful moments in your life? This book has a LOT of hands-on ideas for making it happen.

happier hour book

Happier Hour by Cassie Holmes – audiobook – $4.99
This was the January book for 2023 Everyday Reading Book Club and I couldn’t stop talking about it. I love a self-help book and this one has so many good practical tips for making your life happier, no matter what your current life looks like. I especially love implementing ideas about having better weekends!

Mouse Scouts: Make Friends by Sarah Dillard – audiobook – $4.99
These little mice girls belong to the Mouse Scouts and work hard to earn different badges. This is such a charming chapter book series. (Plus, this one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

Very Sincerely Yours

Very Sincerely Yours by Kerry Winfrey – audiobook – $5.99
I was underwhelmed (understatement) by her first book, Finding Tom Hanks, so I had low expectations for this one and then it just absolutely charmed me! This one has a “You’ve Got Mail” vibe where two strangers strike up a correspondence relationship, without realizing they know each other in real life too. Teddy works at a vintage toy store and feels like she has nothing going for her in her life. Everett runs a local children’s TV show that Teddy watches religiously. It’s charming and funny and all the things I love in a romantic comedy book.

Back After This by Linda Holmes – audiobook – $5.99
Kristen from the Everyday Reading team read this one recently and raved about it! It follows a podcast producer who ends up hosting a dating show based on her own love life (reluctantly, of course). The meet-cute involves a giant lost dog and sounds unexpectedly sweet and hilarious. The love interest is quirky and charming in a not-so-typical romance-hero way, which makes him even more endearing. It seems like a warm, witty story with heart and relatable characters you’ll want to root for.

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin – ebook – $1.99
I care nothing about video games, this book is ALL about video games, and yet I loved it! Sadie and Sam meet when they are kids and bond over their shared love of video games. They eventually go on to become video game designers, and together they create the most beloved and famous video games of their generation. This book has a lot of heavy topics in it: depression, suicide, violence, dysfunctional relationships, you name it, it’s probably in here, but I found this book very hopeful. It was totally different than anything I have ever read and one of the most immersive book experiences that I have ever had.
