Book Deals for a Winter Weekend

It has been SO snowy this week!

I love the coziness of everyone being home together and snuggling up with a good book (we’ve been plowing through our current read-aloud, Nothing Else But Miracles, which is still on sale for $1.99).

Here are some other great books on sale this weekend!

Book Deals for a Winter Weekend

Holes by Louis Sachar

Holes by Louis Sachar – ebook
Holes is one of my favorite Newbery winners and since my girls love the Wayside School books, I couldn’t wait to introduce them to this one. It was just as good as I remembered and when we finished, we had a special outdoor movie night with our giant screen to watch the film version.

Emergency ContactEmergency Contact by Lauren Layne and Anthony Ledonne – ebook
This holiday romcom sounds like it is full of the banter that I really like. Kate and Tom, a divorced couple, are trying to get from NYC to Chicago for Christmas. But after a several modes of transportation – a plane, a train, a bus, and even an Uber, these two find that maybe they shouldn’t be divorced after all.

The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron

The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron – ebook
After the new year rolls around, I am always thinking of fun goals and challenges. For anyone that is creatively-minded, this book is chalked full of useful exercises, and a 13 week guide to connect you with your inner artist.

Maybe You Should Talk to SomeoneMaybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, HER Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed by Lori Gottlieb – ebook
I discovered this book on Modern Mrs. Darcy’s 2019 Summer Reading List and then saw it EVERYWHERE. I devoured this one – it was so fascinating about a therapist and her patients, plus her own experience in therapy. Pretty much made me certain we ALL need to go to a therapist.

Sarah plain and tallSarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan – audiobook
This beloved Newbery winner is the story of Sarah Elisabeth Wheaton who comes out to the prairies from her home in Maine when Papa advertises for someone to come join their family as a wife and mother. (This one is a Libro.fm title, which means you can make it into a Yoto card!).

the happiness projectThe Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin – audiobook – $5.07
I LOVE Gretchen Rubin and this book, which really made a name for her. It is so delightful and perfect for a reset time, which is what I see the beginning of a new year as. (Full review here)

Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon HaleBook of a Thousand Days – Abridged by Shannon Hale – audiobook
I will not apologize that I have stated multiple times that I think Shannon Hale is the BEST! Lady Saren and her maid find themselves trapped in a tower after she refuses to marry the man her father has chosen for her. Will they be able to escape? (Full review here) (This one is a Libro.fm title, which means you can make it into a Yoto card!).

Don't overthink itDon’t Overthink It by Anne Bogel – audiobook
I read this one at the beginning of 2020, just a few weeks before the whole world shut down and it turned out to be very timely. It’s a quick read with lots of applicable ideas – highly recommend! *This is a Chirp audiobook deal – If you’re new to Chirp, here’s all the details on how it works.

zero waste homeZero Waste Home by Bea Johnson – audiobook
I’m fairly certain we’re never going to be a family that produces one quart jar of garbage per year. Zero Waste Home is packed with
