A NYE Weekend of Book Deals

Ah, nothing better than some good book deals to finish off the holidays with!

I woke up yesterday morning and finished a book in bed which is basically the most vacation-y feeling in the world for me!

Here are some books worth grabbing this weekend! Happy New Year in a few days!

The One and Only Rubyby Katherine Applegate – audiobook
Her Newberry winning title, The One and Only Ivan, (which is also on sale for just under $6) is absolutely phenomenal! This is the third book in the series and was just released this summer. (This one is a Libro.fm title, which means you can make it into a Yoto card!).

Aaron Slater and the Sneaky Snake by Andrea Beaty – audiobook
We are huge fan of Andrea Beaty, and her Questioneers chapter book series is phenomenal. They all inspire, talk about persevering through mistakes, and this one in particular shows how creativity can help out a zookeeper in need. (This one is a Libro.fm title, which means you can make it into a Yoto card!).

Last Christmas in Paris by Hazel Gaynor & Heather Webb – audiobook
It’s the perfect weekend to cozy up with this book! This historical fiction Christmas book is set in WWI and is written entirely in letters (a format I don’t normally go for). Evie’s brother and his best friend are headed off to the front, but like most people, they assume the war will be over by Christmas and they have grand plans to spend it together in Paris. Of course, it doesn’t go that way. I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook – the narration is so good! (Full review here)

Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer by James L. Swanson – audiobook
One of the greatest manhunts in American history lasted a wild 12 days as Union cavalry pursued John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of Abraham Lincoln. What really impressed me is the fact that Swanson kept the story so streamlined. The YA version, Chasing Lincoln’s Killer is also fantastic!

Days With Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel – audiobook
Read by the author, these are just SO delightful. I just feel happy whenever I hear these in the car or playing in our house. I love every single one of these sweet stories and my girls have listened to the whole collection a million times. (This one is a Libro.fm title, which means you can make it into a Yoto card!).
