How Yoga for Kids is saving our sanity right now

I’m pretty sure that before all of this quarantine madness, none of my children had ever done yoga before.

But as I started collecting online resources to keep everyone happy for weeks at home, one that kept getting recommended again and again was yoga for kids.

Specifically Cosmic Kids Yoga.

YOGA FOR KIDS

A day or two into being at home, I pulled up the playlist on YouTube, had my girls choose a video (they chose Moana) and I used our ChromeCast to show it on our television.

It’s about 30 minutes long and I thought there was NO WAY they’d last the whole time.

And yet, all three of my younger girls were completely engaged for the entire 30 minutes.

Since then, they do 1-2 yoga videos every morning after breakfast before we get going with our homeschool schedule.

It’s such a nice routine that gets their bodies moving and I just love it so much.

I’ve never been into yoga myself, but love that they’re getting to experience it.

We have just used the YouTube videos so far, but Cosmic Kids Yoga also has an app with their full library of videos, no ads, and none of the potential issues that come along with YouTube.

It’s $10 per month or you can try it for free for 14 days.

We also happened to have four yoga mats for kids that Bart’s dad and stepmom gave the girls for Christmas and now we just store them under the couch so they’re easy to grab each morning. They’re absolutely darling and available on Amazon.

It’s been a fantastic addition to our daily routine that’s so different than it was a month ago and I hope we’ll keep it going (although probably not daily) once we return to normal life.

Have you tried yoga for kids? I’d love to hear your favorite sources for videos!
