Three Things I Wore Last Week

One of my unwritten goals this year is to spend less time getting dressed. I sometimes feel like I waste my whole morning and I still don’t like what I end up wearing. (Sunday, for some reason, is especially bad for me). I just want to get dressed, feel good about what I’m wearing and go on with my day. Is that asking so much?

Anyway, so far so good. Here are three things I wore last week, and ten points to me because all three of them were the first outfit I put on.

If you happen to care about such things, from left to right:
1) Shirt: H&M (borrowed from Landen), Jeans: Target, Shoes: Target
2) Sweater: Old Navy, Jeans: Target, Boots: JC Pennys, Necklace: Claire’s
3) Shirt: Anthropologie (gift from my mom), Jeans: Target, Shoes, Target. Necklace: Gift from my mom

  1. I used to be the same way, want to know what I did?

    I paired out everything I hadn't worn for a long time/didn't like/didn't fit.

Then I had about 1/3 less clothes and started to slowly buy items that worked better.

For a while I would set out my clothes the night before.

Dressing is so much easier now! You look so nice. I love those Target mary jane heels 🙂

  2. I should probably adopt the same goal…

You look really cute in all of these pictures! I especially love that top you borrowed from Landen…maybe it should stay yours?

I hope your tweet that your career as a fashion bloger was over is false. I love seeing your outfits. I especially love that you compile them. I think your blog is just about perfect in the mix of things you give me to read. You are entirely delightful.

  3. I'm the same. Now that I'm a mom, I've realized that I don't think I want my children seeing me spend so much time on or obsessing over how I look.

  4. Ugh, I can completely agree. Sundays are the worse for me because as a stay at home mom of a 3yo and a 1yo I of course never get out and want to look especially nice for church though I struggle getting everyone ready on time as it is. I'm glad I got some new clothes for Xmas, though I wish I wouldn't wear off the novelty of the new items so quickly!

Love your blog btw! I don't comment very often but I always enjoy your posts, book related or not.

  5. My best friend (who, it must be said, is not naturally fashionable) made a database for her outfits and logs when she wears each one. She doesn't really find the process of putting together an outfit enjoyable, though, so the database works for her.

  6. Um, I can totally see you in a catalog, you skinny girl. 🙂

(P.S. LOVE the blog redesign! Where did you get your little buttons? The temple one is darling!)

  7. I always choose what I'm going to wear the night before-that is, when I'm going to be working or doing something important. So on the days that neither of those things occur, getting dressed is….interesting. But since having my daughter, one of my goals is to stop obsessing less about my looks and be healthier and happier with who I am. It's hard, though. I think us women are just naturally harder on ourselves and a bit perfectionistic in this area.

However, I have honestly never seen a picture of you and thought, "Ew. What is she wearing?" You always look quite nice and well put together. And I'm so glad someone else buys so much of their wardrobe at Target.

I love that store. It's a bit sad how much I love it.
