Beginning of July Book Deals
Happy Saturday!
We’ve been soaking up every moment of the holiday from the hot air balloon festival bright and early on Thursday morning to kayaking up the canyon with cousins and a picnic dinner last night.
Today is a more low-key day and I’m excited to get some reading in and finish up my puzzle on the back deck (I’m doing this one!).
Here are some of the book deals I’m most excited about this weekend!
I Think You’re Wrong (But I’m Listening): A Guide to Grace-Filled Political Conversations by Sarah Stewart Holland and Beth Silvers – ebook
I’ve meant to read this book since it came out about five years ago (the reviews are incredible!) and I was so happy to see this one pop up in on sale this week!
The Read-Aloud Family: Making Meaningful and Lasting Connections with Your Kids by Sarah Mackenzie – ebook
I mean, you already know I love this book (so much so that I picked it for the 2019 Everyday Reading Book Club!). But if you’re looking to make reading with your children a bigger part of your routine this year, there aren’t many more inspirational books than this one. It’s truly a gold mine of ideas. (Full review here)
From the Desk of Zoe Washington by Janae Marks – audiobook
This book got recommended after I read Just Mercy and then I saw it compared favorably to Front Desk (one of my favorite books from 2019) and it happened to already be on my shelf, so there was no way I couldn’t pick it up. It’s a quick read and I loved it. (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!).
I Want My Mummy! Ms. Frogbottom’s Field Trips: Book #1 by Leslie Meier – audiobook
Ms. Frogbottom keeps adventure as a top priority in her classroom. All she has to do is take out her magic map, and her class is whisked all over world. But when Ms. Frogbottom takes the class to Egypt, will they be able to solve the riddle of a mummy’s ancient curse? (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!).
The Dutch House by Ann Patchett – audiobook
Because her book, Tom Lake, was surprisingly wonderful, it makes me want to read The Dutch House. I have had so many followers over the years suggest it, and they have had STRONG words about how important it is to listen to the audio version read by Tom Hanks. With it on sale, now might be perfect time for me to snag it!
Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster – audiobook
In this delightful novel, eighteen-year-old Jerusha, “Judy”, grows up in an orphanage. When a mysterious millionaire begins to pay for her college education, she cannot believe her luck! Who was this mysterious gentleman and would Jerusha ever get to meet him?
