A Fall Weekend of Book Deals

There are SO many good book deals this weekend, especially on books perfect for finishing off October with, from easy reader Halloween audiobooks to gothic mysteries for adults.

Who needs candy when you have great books? (Okay, I won’t say no to a fun-size Almond Joy or a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup to go with my book stash . . . ).

A Fall Weekend of Book Deals

Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee – ebook – $2.99
Last summer, I hosted the book club for Grown-Up Summer Camp and this was the fiction title. Stacey Lee is the author of The Downstairs Girl, which I absolutely loved, so it was really fun to dive into her newest book about twins that end up on the Titanic’s maiden voyage.

The Witch Family by Eleanor Estes, illustrated by Edward Ardizzone – ebook – $1.99
Want a family Halloween read aloud? Eleanor Estes never misses – we read so many of her books when I was growing up and this one is on my list to read to my girls next year in October!

Murder at Midnight by Avi – ebook – $1.99
I love Avi (he’s the author of The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, one of my favorite books from my childhood) and this one is perfect for Halloween reading. Magnus is a magician getting blamed for being a traitor in the king’s court – he and his servant boy. Fabrizio will have to solve the mystery of who is really the traitor so they can prove Magnus is innocent or he’ll die.

Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking by Samin Nosrat – ebook – $1.99
One of my favorite kinds of books are cookbooks and this one is one I bought myself as a gift (thanks to my in-laws who sent me an Amazon gift card for my birthday). It’s currently $1.99, which is a screaming deal. Right now it’s the Number one cookbook on Amazon.

Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast by Robin McKinley – ebook – $1.99
This fairy tale retelling of Beauty and the Beast was on the 2022 Summer Reading Guide. I love that this one gives you way more backstory for Beauty’s family and I really love her sisters and their sweet relationship. It has such great character development and it’s just a delight all around.

Last Christmas in Paris by Hazel Gaynor andHeather Webb – ebook – $1.99
This historical fiction Christmas book is set in WWI and is written entirely in letters (a format I don’t normally go for). Evie’s brother and his best friend are headed off to the front, but like most people, they assume the war will be over by Christmas and they have grand plans to spend it together in Paris. Of course, it doesn’t go that way.

The School for Good and Evil by Soman ChainaniThe School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani – audiobook – $4.99
I love a good book that involves familiar characters from classic fairy tales and this one does it in such a unique way. Sophie is set to go to the School for Good, just like Cinderella and the like of her did. Agatha is a shoe-in for the School for Evil with her black clothing and naughty cat. With no explanation, the girls are each put in the exact opposite schools that seem fitting for them. This is a series of six books and Netflix just released the movie this week.

The Brontë Plot by Katherine ReayThe Brontë Plot by Katherine Reay – audiobook – $3.99
I read her book Dear Mr. Knightley a few years ago and it’s just so charming and sweet, so I was thrilled to see this book pop up on super sale since I’ve been meaning to read more of her books since I read the first one!

Mouse and Mole: A Perfect Halloween by Wong Herbert YeeMouse and Mole: A Perfect Halloween by Wong Herbert Yee – audiobook – $3.99
I’ve been reading these beginner chapter books to my girls for more than a decade and I’m still delighted every time a new one is released. I love these sweet forest friends and this one is just perfect for Halloween.
