4 Books I’m Currently Reading
The end of May is maybe my favorite reading time of the year.
The Summer Reading Guide is out in the world and so many new books are coming out so it feels like the world is my reading oyster.
I’m picking up so many books at the library, my Kindle is loaded, and the weather is beckoning me outside (I love reading on our back deck!).
Here are a few books I’m currently reading!
4 Books I’m Currently Reading
The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness by Jonathan Haidt
I’ve been listening to this audiobook and it’s been the perfect choice as school gets out and summer kicks off because it talks so much about allowing kids to have a play-based childhood instead of a screen-based childhood. And frankly, so much for me to think about in my own behavior and habits, especially when my work is so much online.
Millionaires for the Month by Stacy McAnulty
This is my current read-aloud to my girls and we’re all VERY into it. Two seventh graders find a wallet and discover it belongs to the founder of a massive social media company. When they return it, she offers them each 5 million dollars. But the catch? They have to spend it all in a month (and no buying assets, investments, or property!).
The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
I LOVED A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder so I was excited to pick this new one up from the same author. Frankly, it hasn’t truly gripped me yet, but it’s an intriguing story about a teen girl whose mom disappeared when she was a baby. Now, 16 years later, she’s back. But what’s really been happening to her for those 16 years she was missing?
Sylvia’s Second Act by Hillary Yablon
One of the bookstagrammers I follow, Meagan’s Book Club, has been raving about this book so I picked it up from the library and dove in to this story of Sylvia who finds her husband cheating on her so decides she’s going to make a new life for herself in her 60s in New York City alongside her best friend.
And here’s what my team is reading right now!

The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young
This book had me sucked in from the first few chapters. This story follows June Farrow, a woman in her mid-thirties, living in the small town of Jasper, running her family flower farm. Her life isn’t ordinary though. All of the Farrow women in her bloodline have been known to go mad as they age and June has been holding her breath her entire life knowing it would happen. As she starts to hear and see things that aren’t really there, she starts digging into her mother’s past to try and find answers. If you like a good time travel book, you should definitely check this one out!
