The Best Puzzles I Did in 2024
Last year, for the first time, I did a “favorite puzzles of the year” post.
And I liked it so much I’m doing it again!
One of the things I love about puzzles is that I can look at a puzzle box and instantly remember what I listened to while I worked on it. That combination of doing something tactile with a strong visual component AND listening really makes an impact on my brain!
Here are the puzzles I most enjoyed doing in 2024!
(P.S. After literally years of resisting, I finally ordered a puzzle board and I absolutely love it – it’s a game changer to start a puzzle and not worry if I’ll have time to finish it before the dining table is needed again. It has a cover that sits on top to protect the pieces and I just slide the whole thing under my couch when it is not in use – it’s less than 2 inches thick so it doesn’t need a lot of vertical space!)
The Best Puzzles I Did in 2024
Happy Campers Puzzle
1000 piece
If I had to choose a single favorite puzzle that I did in 2024, it would be this one. I absolutely LOVE a puzzle that is broken up into squares like this and this one had the most delightful designs – made me want to go buy a camper!
Tea Cups Puzzle
1000 pieces
Galison is one of my favorite brands of puzzles because they have such fun designs – this one reminded me a bit of this vintage radio puzzle I did a year or two ago and absolutely loved.
Beside the Sea Puzzle
500 pieces
This was the kick-off to my summer puzzling and it was a perfect one-evening puzzle that I did with Ella while we listened to All Creatures Great and Small. Every time I see this puzzle box, it makes me smile to remember that perfect early summer evening.
Cool by the Pool Puzzle
1000 pieces
This was one of my summer puzzles and I had the best time doing it on my back patio while I listened to audiobooks and enjoyed the beautiful warm weather. This one was especially fun because of the random cuts of the pieces – an extra little challenge that I loved!
Disney Pixar Toy Store Puzzle
1000 pieces
My friend brought over a bunch of puzzles for me to do (this is the kind of friend you hold on to!) and although it’s not one I would have picked out myself, I ended up LOVING it. Ella and I did it together over a weekend and it was an absolute delight. A+
Shrooms in Bloom Puzzle
500 pieces
I took this puzzle on our Chicago anniversary trip this fall and when Bart was down at the pool, I had the best time working on it in our hotel room while I listened to an audiobook and watched the sun go down over the city. (A 500 piece puzzle is usually my choice for a trip puzzle because I know I’ll be able to finish it before the trip is over).
Pippi Post Seasons Puzzle
500 pieces
This is one of the puzzles I took on my trip with Ani to the Texas treehouse and we liked it so much we actually did it TWICE on this trip (while blowing through the audiobook of The Bletchley Riddle). And then when we came home, she did it AGAIN with her cousins. Absolutely a winner puzzle.
Merry Medley Puzzle
1000 pieces
Like I said, I love a puzzle with different unique blocks in the design and this one was just holiday perfection! I took this one to St. Louis with us for Thanksgiving and my kids and my nephews all helped work on it. Maybe my new favorite holiday puzzle! (My code is EverydayReading15).
I’d love to hear your favorite puzzles you did this year!
