A Puzzle a Month – 1000 Piece Edition
Recently, a reader reached out to me and said she wanted to do a “puzzle of the month” gift for her dad for the holidays.
I was instantly taken with this idea and quickly set to work picking puzzle for each month of the year.
This is the perfect gift for a parent or grandparent or in-law!
(Or for yourself!)
I’ve matched the puzzles to the seasons and I hope you’ll find this list of puzzles as fun as I did!
P.S. These are all 1000 piece puzzles, but you can find 500 piece puzzle recommendations if that is more up your alley.

JANUARY

A is for Bee Puzzle
Oh, I absolutely loved this puzzle. I’m very drawn to puzzles with squares like this where you can work on one at a time. The illustrations are gorgeous and the colors and striking.
FEBRUARY

Love Stamps Jigsaw Puzzle
I love a White Mountain puzzle – they have nice big pieces with interesting cuts and fun designs and this one is no exception! It’s especially fun for me to pick out stamps in this design that I remember seeing in real life over the course of my life.
MARCH

Mixtapes
This throwback puzzle is so brightly colored and really fun to put together one tape at a time (and yes, you might have to explain to small children what these things are!).
APRIL

Hey Neighbors!
April is the time of the year when everyone starts reemerging from their homes from the winter months! It’s always so good to see neighbors out and about in our neighborhood and this puzzle encapsulates that feeling for me.
MAY

Ever Upward
Seed packets are always so fun – and this puzzle of seed packets makes me want to plant all of these flowers in my yard! It’s the perfect puzzle for ringing in summer.
JUNE

National Parks
I borrowed this one from a friend and it was SO FUN. I loved spotting the national parks we’ve visited along with ones I immediately had to put on my list!
JULY

Cool by the Pool
I had the best time doing this summer puzzle on my back patio while I listened to audiobooks and enjoyed the beautiful warm weather. This one was especially fun because of the random cuts of the pieces – an extra little challenge that I loved. Use my affiliate code JANSSEN.
AUGUST

So. Many. Stickers
This is one of my all-time favorite puzzles and it’s perfect for summer with all sorts of summery illustrations like sunglasses, tacos, airplanes, beach balls, and ice cream sandwiches. I absolutely LOVE this puzzle!
SEPTEMBER

New York Puzzle Co Pemberton Quill & Parchment
Have you seen Loré Pemberton’s puzzles? They’re the perfect mix of folky and vintage, and this one especially hits all my favorite things. Please take me to this library immediately.
OCTOBER

Spooky Village with Foil
I couldn’t say no to this cozy little village filled with spooky little ghosts. Galison is one of my favorite puzzle brands and this one has foil, and I love a puzzle with a shiny touch like that! It’s perfect for October.
NOVEMBER

Autumn in the Neighborhood
One of my favorite things about living in Utah is watching the fall leaves change. This puzzle’s street, with its pumpkin-filled stoops, is exactly the scene I’d love to walk down.
DECEMBER

Merry Medley
Like I said, I love a puzzle with different unique blocks in the design and this one was just holiday perfection! I took this one to St. Louis with us for Thanksgiving one year and everyone helped work on it. Maybe my new favorite holiday puzzle! (My code is EverydayReading15).
