The Summer Reading Log for Kids

Looking for a copy of the Reading Log for kids? Pop in your email below and it’ll come right to your inbox!
It’s the SEVENTH year of the Summer Reading Log for Kids and I could not be more thrilled to share it with you!
This year’s was designed by Tara from Rad & Happy! She did the very first Christmas Reading Calendar and Halloween Reading Calendar, both of which were smashing successes and I was so excited to work with her again!
(Fun fact: whenever I ask for suggestions for designers for these charts, she is HANDS DOWN the most requested one).
The theme for this year’s is Reading Carnival and I LOVE how it all came together.
This year’s reading challenges (20 in all) are all around the carnival events spread and at the top and bottom are flags where you can track your reading all summer long.
You can decide how you want to track it – you can color in every day that you read at all, every day that you read for a certain amount of time or write in the titles of the books you’re reading. It’s up to you what works best for your family and schedule!
I haven’t even talked about all the cute details to color in, from the different food items to the various types of entertainment as you work your way through your very own summer carnival.
And, as always, the summer reading log for kids is always free! Just pop in your email address below and it’ll come right to your inbox, ready to print off.
I love hearing from teachers who print out a copy for all their students to take home as an end-of-year gift or families that pass them out to neighbors to kick off summer or pop them in their local Little Free Library. There are so many ways to use this free reading log for kids!
You can print it at home, but I always think the most fun is doing an engineer print – it’s only a few dollars and having a big version is so fun. I have a whole rundown of how to order an engineer print here. Once you do it, you’ll never go back!
And if you use this reading log for kids this summer and share it on Instagram, please tag me (@everydayreading) and (@radandhappy) so we can see them in action!
P.S. The SIX previous Summer Reading Logs for Kids are all still available for free here, if you’d like those ones instead!
This is so cute! We’ve been including your reading calendars in a class newsletter my daughter has written for her class this year as an enrichment activity because she is gifted. The class has absolutely loved the calendars! Now to pick which one to give out for her summer edition!
