Raiding My Sister’s Closet: Trying Out a Trend – Fur
This vest has made many appearance on my blog (most recently in Salt Lake and less recently standing in the road in front of my house).
My mom gave it to me many moons ago and it has really stood the test of time. It’s my most worn piece of outerwear by a long shot.
The hood, however, is removable, and I don’t think I’ve ever once worn it with the hood on.
But, when we decided to do a fur post for this round of Raiding My Sister’s Closet, I realized it was the only single item with fur on it I owned (this probably comes as a complete shock – I definitely look like the kind of person who would own a lot of fur, I know).
So, I pulled it down from the top shelf of the hall closet, reattached it, and voila!
Per usual, my mom was ahead of her time.
(Also, can you believe this snow? Now you can see why we didn’t leave the house for three days – except to take these pictures, because obviously I have my priorities).

This is what the snow is like where I live! We've gotten a total of 101 inches this season.
And also – I love your tights. And I am drooling over that plaid shirt.
I love this outfit! I also have this vest from many moons ago and I still wear it (on the occasion that the temperature dips below 68)
Yep. We got dumped on in Maryland too. We felt like we were back in Kansas. That's a really interesting shirt. Have you worn it untucked? I'd be interested to see how you style peplum.
I actually cut the peplum off – it was just too thick and I felt like it was drowning me a bit (Made a great scarf, though . . .).
Looking great! The lipstick is a fun touch too. (I'm leagues behind as a devotee to Chapstick.)
I have a vest with a fur hood and I love it. Yours looks great! Have you heard Dmitri Martin joke about vests and how he doesn't understand the no sleeves? "There's an extremely narrow cold front approaching…" So funny.
Love your humour 🙂 love the pics and Love the vest
