Raiding My Sister’s Closet: Swimsuits
We’ve done a little reboot of Sisters Share It All. We’ve renamed it “Raiding My Sister’s Closet” and we’ll be focusing on clothing, style, and virtual shopping. Get excited.
I’ve discovered that I much prefer buying swimsuits for my little girls than for myself. I mean, really, there are so many darling options.
When it comes to adult swimsuits, though, I am ludicrously picky. There are so many styles I don’t like and so many ridiculous requirements I have for a swimsuit of my own. After putting together this list, I find it kind of amazing that I currently own any swimsuits at all. And also why I’m not surprised that it’s been more than 2 years since I bought a new swimsuit.
But, I have prevailed! Here are five swimsuits I quite like:
- Rope Stripe Suit from J. Crew ($59)
- Polka Dot Swimsuit from Oasap ($74)
- Boyleg Swimsuit from Boden ($78)
- Pop Art dot tank from J. Crew ($59)
- Bright Stripe from Gap ($65)
I can’t decide which one I like best . I’m thinking #1 or #3.
P.S. If you are buying a swimsuit, make sure to use Ebates for Gap or J.Crew or Boden.
Now I’m off to see what Merrick and Landen picked and then I might pull myself together and buy one. We ARE going to the pool multiple times a week right now, so I think I can justify it.
I gave up on old navy for suits because I finally realized they don't make suits for girls with boobs. My last three suits have come from athleta. Pricey, but worth it for a suit that is well made, supportive, and won't fall off while surfing. I'm a two piece girl because I like a tanned stomach, but the one pieces they carry are cute too.
I want you to list all your ridiculous requirements for swimsuits. Please?
I pretty much only like straight-across necklines (no v-necks), I hate ruching in the center, I don't like metal fasteners or attachments, I can't stand cups like this (http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/swim/onepiecetanks/PRDOVR~46617/46617.jsp), and I don't like double-straps or straps that are too thick.
I second Jennifer! Let's hear the list!
I love number one! Three is good, too. I think five looks like a good idea but on would look a bit strange….but that's just my opinion. 🙂
