Raiding My Sister’s Closet: Christmas Presents!

One thing I love about Christmas is a few new things in my closet. Bart bought me this great sweater (one of his best-ever clothing purchases for me, I’d say), and it’s been getting a lot of wear since the temperature is not warm here.

(I know. The weather here is nothing compared to other parts of the country, but I’m a Las-Vegas-raised wimp. And then Texas further solidified my already-impressive wimpiness).

The other most exciting thing I got in December actually showed up a few days before Christmas from Lily Jade. I’d been looking to ditch my diaper bag for a few months, now that Ani’s a little older and also because I do sometimes leave the house without my little children on occasion and feel dumb lugging around something that screams “Does anyone need a baby wipe? Because it’s super obvious I will have some with me. And some crushed Cheerios!” so when Lily Jade offered to send me one of their designer diaper bags, it took me half a nanosecond to say yes.

It does come in black and brown, but I figured for once in my life I’d be brave and go with a fun color, and I haven’t had a moment of regret. It makes me happy every time I see it.

Also, I’m going to Alt Summit later this month (have I mentioned this? I can’t remember), and I’ll be glad to have a bag that can handle all the stuff I will be hauling on the plane for me and my two children for a five hour flight (yippee (barf)), and still be nice enough to take to Alt (where I hear a bag that can hold a lot of stuff is a necessity).

And this bag can hold it all. I packed it for our 9-hour (each way) road trip to Alabama last week and it seriously wasn’t even stuffed at all. I guess I should have put more candy bars in (but only for eating on the weekends, of course).

P.S. Through January, you can get 25% off any of their bags with the code “everyday25.” They are more pricey than a lot of diaper bags, but after looking at a LOT of diaper bags, I’ve come to the conclusion that basically every diaper bag is expensive. And this one is a lot LOT nicer than any of the other ones I’ve seen.

  1. Kudos to hubby for picking such a lovely garment. I am convinced that red goes with everything so yay for being brave and picking that color:).

  2. Fun sweater and great bag. I love a diaper bag that looks like a bag but can also be a backpack. The backpack feature is so handy for touring.
