Raiding My Sister’s Closet: Orange

When we were planning our next couple of Raiding My Sister’s Closet posts, we said “Let’s do a color that’s really hot the fall.”
Then we all sat around and waited for Merrick to email us telling us what colors were hot this fall. Because, clearly, I have no idea.
When one of the ones she mentioned was orange, I jumped on it because I had a new orange skirt that Mikarose sent me.
I loved the color and pattern of it, and I particularly like that it’s long enough to wear comfortably without constantly adjusting it.
And pockets? I was completely won over.
Plus, it’s super well-made. It’s fully lined, a really nice material, and hangs beautifully.
I can get behind orange, if this is what orange means.

  1. My sister had this really cute dress from Mikarose, so when we were in Utah I made sure to get to the store. I bought 3 dresses and one skirt! And every Sunday since I have been so happy.

  2. Thank you Merrick for telling us all what to wear this fall! Keep that advice coming! That skirt looks perfect on you. Also, I'm convinced I'll never buy a skirt without pockets again. I'm addicted!

  3. Wow, I love that skirt! What a gorgeous pattern. I wouldn't expect those colors to flow together so well, but they totally do.

  4. So, I know I already commented but I have another story about orange clothing that I feel like you will appreciate. When I was in college I was really into wearing orange. I had tons of orange shirts. When I went to London for study abroad, I packed only my favorite clothes. And, that meant that I basically only had orange shirts to wear once I got there. I'm wearing an orange shirt in a good three quarters of my photos from London. I just counted. I had 6 orange shirts in London, 1 blue shirt, and 2 white shirts. That's it. My love of orange clothing began to taper after it was the only option I had.

  5. I love that skirt from Mikarose! I always forget that they exist and then I go to their website and want to buy EVERYTHING. It's a dangerous place for someone with no money or self control.
