First Weekend of November Book Deals

I can’t believe Halloween is over! Did you see our costumes this year? I was SO pleased with how they turned out!

Now I’m putting away Halloween decorations and enjoying a little undecorated time before I put up Christmas decorations in late November!

This is a BANNER weekend for book deals – so many good ones, including a LOT of kids books on sale from Libro.FM which means you can make them into Yoto cards! If you’re planning to get a Yoto this holiday season, now is the time to stock up and make some cards so your kids have things to listen to when they open it in December!

Martha Stewart’s Organizing: The Manual for Bringing Order to Your Life, Home & Routines by Martha Stewart – ebook – $2.99
I love a good home organization book and this one is FULL of practical tips, projects, and ideas! If you need a little inspiration around your house, grab a copy of this one!

The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan – ebook – $1.99
You may be familiar with Jenny Colgan from her beloved Little Beach Street Bakery books, but this series looks just as fun! Nina, a librarian, is so used to being a literary matchmaker. So when she moves to a new little sleepy town, she wonders if she will be able to find a match for herself.

Happier at Home: Kiss More, Jump More, Abandon Self-Control, and My Other Experiments in Everyday Life by Gretchen Rubin – ebook – $1.99
I’m a super fan of Gretchen Rubin and I love this book about how to make everyday life happier. It’s a great one to start off a new year. The audiobook is on sale through LibroFM – if you’re not familiar with LibroFM, I have a whole post here about how it works.

Hidden Potential: The Science of Achieving Greater Things by Adam Grant – ebook – $2.99
I have read his books The Originals and Think Again and thought they were both fantastic! Grant expertly weaves fact-based studies with storytelling to challenge the way we think about growth and how to tap into the hidden potential that exists in all of us. It also includes real-world examples.

Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wils – audiobook – $4.99
I’ve been meaning to read this for AGES so I was delighted to see it show up on super sale. If you haven’t grabbed a copy, now is the time!

hello universe book

Hello, Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly – audiobook – $4.99
This one won the Newbery and follows four children in a neighborhood who are all dealing with their own struggles and come together to solve a problem. It’s a sweet story that’s perfect for enjoying as a family.

Little Town on the Prairie (Little House: Book #7) by Laura Ingalls Wilder – audiobook – $4.99
I grew up on these books (I lived in Wisconsin until I was almost 7 and we went to the rebuilt Little House in the Big Woods which I still remember very clearly) and waited my whole life to have children of my own to read them to. When Ella was in kindergarten, we read the first four books together and my girls have listened to the audio dozens of times since then. Two other books in the series are also on sale! (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

Amari and the night brothers

Amari and the Night Brothers by B. B. Alston – audiobook – $6.99
I read this aloud to my children and we were all completely sucked in! Amari’s mourning the disappearance of her beloved older brother (the police say he’s almost certainly dead), but when she gets a pre-recorded message from him, she discovers that there is a supernatural world she’s known nothing about and that her brother was heavily involved before his disappearance. Joining this world isn’t going to be easy, but she’s willing to do whatever it takes to find out what happened to her brother. And she better mean it, because “whatever it takes” turns out to be a LOT. (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

Thank You For Listening by Julia Whelan – audiobook – $4.99
I LOVE Julia Whelan’s audiobook narration (she narrates Book Lovers!) and her book that she wrote (and narrated!) was an instant best seller. This book is especially fun because it’s all about the world of audiobook narrating. The main character, Sewanee, used to be an actress, but now she has moved into audiobook narration. She got her start in romance novels which she’s decided to leave that behind her, but she gets roped into doing one last romance project. This final project ends up being with the most popular male audiobook narrator of the romance genre, Brock McKnight. You will definitely want to listen to this one on audio! Heads up for one brief open door scene.

the measure book

The Measure by Nikki Erlick – audiobook – $4.99
I listened to this story where everyone wakes up to find a box on their doorstep with a string that equates to how long you have left to live. Naturally, the world goes nuts about it. This is one of those books you REALLY want to talk about with someone!

The Star That Always Stays by Anna Rose Johnson – audiobook – $4.99
I read this to my girls last year and I am so happy to see it on sale! It follows Norvia who loves her Ojibwe heritage but when her family moves to the city in 1914, her mother wants her to pretend she’s not Native, including to her new stepfather and stepbrother. And as if that isn’t enough, a world on the verge of world war gives her plenty of other things to worry about. (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)
