Fantastic Book Deals for a Valentine’s Day Weekend

Happy Saturday – I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day and have fun weekend plans!

Here are some of my favorite book deals going on right now – there are some really good ones!

The lazy genius way

The Lazy Genius Way by Kendra Adachi
This book is perfect as you think about what you want and how you can achieve it in the most effortless way. I love her focus on finding what works for YOU, whether it’s the kind of thing that works for anyone else or not, and her kind, gentle-humored style. Whether you’re new to Kendra or are already a fan of her podcast, this book is terrific.

Better than before

Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin
I love how practical this book is and especially how Rubin helps you identify what kinds of strategies will work for YOU as you set goals and develop new habits. Plus, I find her writing so delightful and interesting. I love all her books, including The Happiness Project, but this one is definitely my favorite. (Full review here)

Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity by Peter Attia MD and Bill Gifford
I mean, who doesn’t want to live longer? This book shares scientific approaches and strategies to help extend lifespan with focuses on sleep, nutrition, exercise, and mental and emotional health. Attia really shares what to do and how to reframe your thinking on longevity.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer
This fractured fairy tale came highly recommended when I asked about your favorite fractured fairy tales for adults. Before she was the Queen of Hearts, Catherine was just a girl who dreamed of love and baking—not the crown. Though the King of Hearts desires her, she falls instead for Jest, the charming court joker, risking everything for a chance at true love. But in a world of magic and madness, destiny has its own plans, threatening to turn her dreams into a nightmare.

Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians by Brandon Sanderson
Ani, my 12 year old, just read and loved this one. Brandon Sanderson is one of Bart’s favorite authors and even though I’m not a huge fantasy reader, I knew it wouldn’t be long before Ani jumped on this series about a foster child who is helping save the world from evil librarians. (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

Puffin Funny Stories for 6 Year Olds by Puffin
If you have a 6 year old, this compilation of laugh-out-loud stories will keep them entertained – especially with more than an hour of run time (This one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

Very Sincerely Yours

Very Sincerely Yours by Kerry Winfrey
This book just absolutely charmed me! It has a “You’ve Got Mail” vibe where two strangers strike up a correspondence relationship, without realizing they know each other in real life too. Teddy works at a vintage toy store and feels like she has nothing going for her in her life. Everett runs a local children’s TV show that Teddy watches religiously. It’s charming and funny and all the things I love in a romantic comedy book.

nora goes off script book

Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan
This is such a fun read if you like books like Emily Henry’s Book Lovers (although this is less steamy than her books). When Nora’s script gets picked up for a romantic comedy and then the incredibly popular leading man ends up staying at her house during shooting. . . well, things are going to go off-script. I loved this one.

Attachments

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
I am SUCH a fan of this book about a computer security guy who starts reading the emails between two women who work at the newspaper after their emails get flagged by the filtering software and then falls in love with one of them despite the fact that she has no idea he even exists. The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau Banks

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
I’ve read this young adult title multiple times (including as a book club pick) and I just LOVED it so much about Frankie, a girl at an elite boarding school who comes back from the summer vacation to discover that she’s now the kind of girl boys notice. She quickly snags one of the most popular boys in the school as her boyfriend and then discovers he’s part of a secret all-boys society. Well, Frankie wants in. (Full review here)
