Book Deals for the Weekend of June 13
One of my summer goals was to catch up on my reading and get back on track with my Goodreads goal.
So far? This is going terribly!
But I am reading and loving The Burning Side and I’m hopeful that things will calm down a little as we get into a summer groove!

The Blonde Identity by Ally Carter – audiobook – $3.99
I loved this funny spy romantic comedy with a dose of action packed adventure. Zoe wakes up in Paris with zero memory, but when she is mistaken for her spy twin sister, there are a lot of people who want her dead. This one has dual narrators (there are two narrators on the audiobook, which was extra fun) and I just loved every second of this book.
The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America by Erik Larson – ebook – $2.99
This is one of those super popular nonfiction books that I have been meaning to read for nearly a decade. It’s essentially about Chicago getting ready to host the World Fair, at the same time that H.H. Holmes, the United States’ first serial killer, is luring his victims!
Everything Is Tuberculosis by John Green – ebook – $2.99
Ever since I listened to and loved The Anthropocene Reviewed a few years ago, I was so excited when this one came out! And I blew through it on audio (it is read by the author which makes it extra fun). I knew next to nothing about tuberculosis and this is a fascinating look at the disease and how much it is woven into culture and history.
Group: How One Therapist and a Circle of Strangers Saved My Life by Christie Tate – ebook – $1.99
I haven’t read this one yet, but it sounds like an intriguing memoir! From the outside, Christie Tate’s life looked wildly successful, but underneath she was struggling. This memoir follows her unexpected experience with group therapy and the relationships that ultimately helped her find the connection she’d been missing all along.
Be Ready When the Luck Happens by Ina Garten – audiobook – $4.99
I love a memoir read by the author and Ina Garten is just such a delight to listen to and a wonderful storyteller. I blew through this on a plane flight and it made the hours fly by. I love hearing how many of you loved this one this last year too!
Classics for Kids by The Brothers Grimm & J. M. Barrie – audiobook – $0.99
I shared about the Libro.FM audiobook sale this last week, and this is probably the biggest deal of the entire sale – $0.99 for almost 26 hours of stories!!! What a steal! It’s packed with all the best classics including tales from the Grimm brothers, The Jungle Book, Peter Pan, and Black Beauty. (Plus, it’s a Libro.fm book, so you can make your own Yoto card with it!)
As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride written and narrated by Cary Elwes with Joe Layden – audiobook – $6.99
If you grew up with The Princess Bride like I did, there almost can’t be a more fun book than this one. I LOVED all the behind-the-scenes about the making of this movie. After I convinced Bart to listen to it too, we watched the movie again and loved it even more, knowing so many funny things about various scenes and actors. Best of all, they managed to get almost the entire original cast to record their stories in the book, so hearing their voices is an extra bonus. (Full review here)
