Book Deals for the Weekend of Jan. 17

January is really coming through with great book deals (perfect for when you’re inside more!).

Here are some of my favorites this weekend!

The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman
This book has been on my TBR for over a decade, and maybe with this great deal, I’ll finally get to it! Set in 1920s Australia, it follows a lighthouse keeper and his wife who make a heartbreaking choice after finding a baby washed ashore, raising her as their own with life-changing consequences.

The Roasted Vegetable: How to Roast Everything from Artichokes to Zucchini for Big, Bold Flavors in Pasta, Pizza, Risotto, Side Dishes, Couscous, Salsas, Dips, Sandwiches, and Salads by Andrea Chesman
Roasting is hands-down my favorite way to eat vegetables – it brings out so much rich flavor. If you’re trying to add more veggies to your meals this year, this is such a great cookbook to keep on hand, and I love snagging cookbooks on the cheap because they’re the one kind of book I reference again and again.

The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig
Gothic romantasy isn’t usually my go-to, but if you love it with a dose of mystery, moody settings, and a slow-burn romance, this one could be a hit. It’s about Sybil, a prophet who dreams the future and must team up with a skeptical (and charming) knight when her fellow Diviners start disappearing.

Aesop’s Fables by Aesop
I grew up with Aesop’s Fables and this 4+ hour long audio version is a super affordable way to introduce your children to these classics. (Plus, this one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

how to train your dragon

How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell
Ella listened to this whole series and loved every second of it. My sister has three boys and they are obsessed with it too. There are 13 books in the series and these stories of Vikings and dragons are fast paced and delightful. (Plus, this one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

anne of green gables collection

The Anne of Green Gables Collection by L. M. Montgomery
If there’s one deal in this post that’s truly the best bang for your buck, it’s this one – more than 72 hours of stories for under $2! If you’re an Anne lover (as I am!), this collection is absolutely charming. (Plus, this one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

The Story of Doctor Dolittle by Hugh Lofting
You may know a thing or two about Dr. Dolittle, the doctor who learns to talk to animals. His adventures take him all over the world as he heals creatures of every kind. (Plus, this one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

Emma m lion audio

The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion Vol. 1 by Beth Brower
If you’ve been around for awhile, you know I love this series! I had read the entire series twice before these came out on audio and I was so excited to try out the audio version – wait until you hear all the voices the narrator does! And if you struggled getting into the physical books, I’m telling you the audiobook really helps. I can’t believe this one is still on sale for under $5!

Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
My 13 year old just read this last week and loved it! When Sophie is cursed by the Witch of the Waste and turned into an old woman, her only hope lies in the mysterious, moving Wizard’s Howl Castle. As she bargains with a fire demon and faces unexpected magic, Sophie uncovers surprising truths about Howl, the curse, and herself.

The Life Intended by Kristin Harmel
This is the same author who wrote one of my favorite historical fiction titles of 2015 (hello, The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau)? I first read this about a decade ago and absolutely flew through it! It was super engaging and I had to know how it all turned out, the kind of solid, feel-good chick lit that totally works.
