A Smoking Audible Prime Day Deal
You’ll be shocked to hear that I’m not an expert on Amazon Prime Day.
But I do keep an eye out for the Amazon Prime Day deals I care about and one of the ones I watch most closely for is an Audible Prime Day Deal.
And, hooray! It’s here!
To give you context, here’s how Audible currently works.
For $14.95 a month, you get access to the entire Audible Plus library. You can listen to any of the millions of hours of included audiobooks, Audible Originals, or podcasts.
We use Audible Plus on a daily basis – my girls love listening to audiobooks on their Echo Dots as they go to bed and I love that anything from Audible Plus that I add to our library they can listen to via voice commands – no screen or phone or tablet required. (For the record, if I were buying today, I’d get an quite a bit cheaper instead of an Echo Dot – they’re quite a bit cheaper!).
In addition, you get to choose one audiobook to add to your permanent collection. I spend my monthly credits on hot new releases that have FOREVER long hold lines at my library or ones that my children will listen to on repeat for ages.
With books in the Audible Plus library, once you cancel your membership, you no longer have access to those.
But with the ones you buy with your monthly credit, you have those forever, even if you cancel your membership.
Bart and I both have Audible memberships (and we have our accounts set up as a family library so we can listen to the books the other one chooses) – it’s just such a great, easy way to listen to more audiobooks!
Anyway, that’s what you get with an Audible membership.
The 2024 Audible Prime Day Deal
And right now, the Audible Prime Day deal gives you all of that for FREE for three months (after that, you can cancel or go on paying the regular price).
That is a SMOKING deal – it’s a no brainer in my book.
If you’ve been considering trying out Audible or going back after a break, NOW is for sure the time to do it.
Just with Audible Plus alone, it’s a great deal, but add the monthly book credits in and it’s pretty much the easiest choice ever to take advantage of it!
You DO have to be a Prime member to take advantage of this deal (if you aren’t, you can get a free 30 day trial here, sign up for the Audible deal, and then cancel your Prime membership immediately).
Also, I’ve heard from several people that they aren’t seeing the Audible deal offered to them because of a previous Audible membership but when they contacted customer service, they applied the deal to their account, so click through and see if it offers it to you and if not, send a chat to customer service!

I’m excited to try audible again, but where do you go to find good kid listens that don’t take your credit? I think navigating the audible site is one of the things that has kept me from keeping my subscription in the past. It seems that any titles I search cost one credit.
Tried canceling but (after canceling) my account has to lapse before Audible recognizes that I’m not still a member. So I can’t take advantage of the deal. How do I work around this?

Yes – you’ll want to spend those before you cancel!
I canceled my audible membership but I still have access until July due to my pay period. Is there something special I have to do to resign up while I still have full access until my current membership ends?

Send a note to Amazon Customer Service – I’ve heard from LOTS of people that customer service applied this deal to their account even when they didn’t see it on the link!

I contacted CS and they would only give me 30 days and two credits since I am a previous member. That is better than nothing.

I had previously been an Audible member but was taking a break, they told me that this deal is for “new customer only.” BUT then he said that “We’ve checked and you’re eligible to take advantage of our Discount Audible Premium Plus. You can enjoy three months of membership at a 50% discount, only $7.49 (plus applicable tax) per month.” So it’s not free, but it’s 50% off when I was thinking of rejoining soon anyway. I AM an Amazon Prime Member and I think that matters.

This didn’t work for me. I’m a prime member and I clicked through you link and clicked ‘start free’ but I still got charged. 🙁 Maybe it is because I’ve had a previous subscription? Emailing customer service now to see if they can help!

You can’t do it on this deal – if you cancel now, you’ll miss out on free months 2 and 3. You’ll need to wait until the 3rd month begins and then you can cancel and you’ll keep your membership until the end of that 3rd month.
Are you and Bart both prime members? My husband is a prime member and already has audible plus but I have neither. Is there a way I can access the audible promotion for myself through HIS prime account? Also thank you so much for all your advice!!!
