Surprise!

Tonight, we went out for sushi. It was a celebration.

A baby?

No, one does not celebrate pregnancy with raw fish.

One celebrates acceptance into graduate school with raw fish.

I’ll be starting in January at the University of Texas at Austin in the iSchool, getting a masters of science in information studies, so I can be a professional librarian when I graduate sometime in 2009.

I am so relieved, I can hardly stand it. Go Longhorns!

  1. Congratulations! That’s so exciting! I’ll be finishing my M.A.T. (Master of Arts in Teaching) sometime in ’09 as well. Hopefully we’ll both breeze right through it 🙂

  4. Hooray! I admit to getting a tad nervous when your 100 things list threatened us with the possibility of never speaking of this again, so I’m glad that’s not the case. 🙂

  5. Somehow I can easily see you with a tight bun in your hair, reading glasses on the edge of your nose, and a purmenant purse on your lips from saying “Shhhhhhhh!” every 5 seconds. Congratualations Janssen. There was never any doubt in my mind that you would get in. It’s true, you do look 12 but as soon as you open your mouth your suddenly 37. Love you!

  6. Congratulations! UT is a great school. If I decide to do a PhD (doubtful), UT will be one of the first places I apply. Grad school is great; you’ll love it!

  7. Congratulations!! That is so so awesome. And I’m glad you’re not celebrating a pregnancy with raw fish. Kinda iffy.

  8. Hello!

I found your blog one day and enjoy your posts. I live in DC and loved the pics from your recent trip!

Huge congrats on the MLS. I thought about doing one myself (my mother is a librarian!), but am actually doing an MA in International Education with a focus on literacy. I just started it, but am loving it so far.

    So, good luck!
