Dance If You Love Sandra Boynton

This post is sponsored by Workman Publishing

You guys, I LOVE Sandra Boynton.

We own a ton of her books and you could stop me on the street at any moment and I could recite Moo Baa La La La and Barnyard Dance and Pajama Time! in their entirety and with great animation.

(I said I could, not that I would).

Besides her board books, Sandra Boynton has also produced a number of illustrated songbooks, and her latest one, Hog Wild!: A Frenzy of Dance Music, just came out last week.

Hog Wild Sandra Boynton

Like all her writing, these songs are SUPER catchy and the songs have been recorded by a bunch of big names like Kristen Bell, Samuel Jackson Five for Fighting and Weird Al” Yankovic, to name a few.

My girls were beside themselves when our copy arrived, and it’s been non-stop dance parties in our car ever since.

So when the publisher reached out and asked if I’d be interested in hosting a Hog Wild! dance party in October, it took me all of two seconds to say yes.

Better yet, they wanted to hold it in Austin, Texas, which is one of my all-time favorite cities. As long-time readers know, we lived there for six years, and I loved every second of calling that place home.

So! If you’re in Austin, I’d LOVE for you to come join me at BookPeople on October 28th at 2pm.

It’s going to be a free event with, of course, a dance party, plus story time, crafts and snacks. Bring your kids, and it’ll be a really fun afternoon (and, of course, you can buy Hog Wild! at the store!).

Also, if you’re NOT in Austin, there are quite a few Hog Wild! parties going on around the country, so if one of these is near you, head on over with your kids.

And, take two minutes to watch this behind-the-scenes videos of the recording of the songs. It’s so fun to see and I promise you’ll be tapping your toes.

See you in Austin!

Wish I lived close to Austin- my son is OBSESSED with Sandra Boynton books, his favorite being “Snuggle Puppy” which is just adorable. Guess we’ll have to do our own dance party!

Did you read that write up in the Washington Post. totally made me love her a billion times more, if that’s even possible. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/hippos-birdies-t-rexes-pigs-how-sandra-boynton-built-an-empire-and-won-your-childs-heart/2017/09/12/9f99a0b6-95c8-11e7-89fa-bb822a46da5b_story.html?utm_term=.05485730a0b9

I hadn’t until now, but I just read it at your suggestion and it kind of made me want to weep and laugh and hug her all at the same time (no wonder she doesn’t do a lot of public events. . . ).
