Janssen: Can I have a kiss?
Tally: Not yet.
Janssen: Oh, okay. When?
Tally: On Thursday.
While watching Newsies for family movie night
Star: Raise your hand if you love the newsies!
[the older three girls all raise their hand]
Tally: Raise your hand if you tink da newsies are BORING.
Star: Ella will always be older than Ani.
Janssen: That’s right.
Star: And I will always be older than Tally.
Janssen: Yep.
Star: And Daddy will always be older than you.
Janssen: That’s true.
Star: And Daddy will always be the one closest to dying.
Janssen: . . .
While playing Cover Your Assets
Ani: Are you going to challenge me for these Classic Autos?
Star: No! I don’t have the courage.
After Tally hits Ella
Tally [gives Ella a hug]: I’m sorry, Ella.
[pause]
Tally: You say “I forgive you.”
Ani is using our back massager on Star
Star: Mom! This is my massager.
Ani: “Masseuse.”
Star: This is my massager named Masseuse.
Star: I’ve already lived longer than Shepard.
Janssen: Yes you have. And I hope you live to be really old.
Star: I hope I don’t die before I’m 95. Otherwise I’ll never be able to get married.
After Star attended a birthday party
Janssen: How was the party?
Star: It was the best party I’ve ever been to in my entire life.
Janssen: Really? Why was it so good?
Star: Because I didn’t have to go to the bathroom during it so I didn’t miss ONE MINUTE of the party.
After making a “cantaloupe” joke and then explaining to Ella what eloping is.
Bart: I hope you don’t elope. I’d be so sad to miss your wedding.
Ella: Don’t worry, I’d never elope.
Bart: Oh good.
Ella: . . . because I’d never miss out on cake.
In church
Bishop: We have some new members in our ward that we’d like to welcome. Please stand if your name is read.
Star: The bishop said to stand if your name was read and that man and woman both stood up. Can you believe both of their names are Red?
Arriving to pick up the two older girls at a unicorn themed birthday party where two ponies with rainbow colored manes and gold unicorn horns are standing in the driveway.
Star [standing in the car, staring. Whispers]: I KNEW unicorns were real.

Love this! Tally thinking Newsies was boring might be my favorite. Way to be different there girl! My 7 year old is learning the Articles of Faith, and since my three year old is always around she is also learning them. The always recites #3:
“We believe that through the Atonement of Christ all mankind NOT be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinance of the gospel”
and I laugh every single time.

I love these posts! Makes me want to better document the funny things my kids say. Declan is currently on this kick of praying that “we will be nice to everyone…even if they are ugly or smell bad.” 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
