4 Books I’m Currently Reading
Some summers feel like I get almost no reading in, but so far this summer has felt like one where I’m just BLOWING through books and I’m loving it!
Here’s what I’m reading right now!

Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams
I’ve been waiting to read this book from a top Facebook executive for months and it finally came up on my library holds. I’m about 25% of the way through and while it’s somewhat interesting, it hasn’t really gotten good yet. I’m still hopeful!
Summer of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls
This was our family audiobook listen on our recent road trip and although I read it when I was a kid and remember loving it, I don’t remember almost anything about the plot so it’s fun to re-listen with my kids who are very into it (my 8 year old especially is ALL IN). This is the same author as Where the Red Fern Grows.
Crazy Horse and Custer: Born Enemies by S.D. Nelson
I meant to read this several years ago but after our Mount Rushmore trip last weekend, I grabbed it on Kindle and have been reading it over the past few days a little at a time. Sometimes I think it is great to read a bunch before a trip but it’s also fun to come home and read books about the places and things you’ve seen that now make the book more meaningful!
How Jenna Became My Dilemma by Kortney Kiesel
I’ve been really enjoying Kortney Keisel for the last six months and I’m getting my money’s worth out of my Kindle Unlimited membership with her books. She does such fun romance beach reads with no open door scenes and this one is shaping up to be fun too!
And here is what my team is reading right now!

Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors
Kelsey mentioned this one on last month’s Currently Reading and I was thrilled when it came up on my holds! And just like Kelsey, I couldn’t get enough. The story follows three sisters lives who live apart but come together a year after their fourth sister has passed away. The three sisters are dealing with the grief from the loss of their sister in different ways, all of which are heart wrenching. This was sad and heavy and captivating all in one. I especially loved the character building.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
After several family members raved about this one, I decided I needed to give it a go! And I am so glad I did – it was such a sweet and heartwarming book – not at all what I was expecting! It’s about Linus Baker, a social worker, who lives a buttoned-up life of rules, solitude, and exactly zero surprises. That is until he’s sent to a remote island to investigate an orphanage with six “dangerous” magical children, including a literal Antichrist. What he expects is chaos, but what he finds flips his world upside down – in the best (and weirdest) way possible.

The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion Vol. 6 by Beth Brower. I’m working my way through the Emma M Lion series and just started the sixth book. This series has been absolutely delightful and it’s the perfect wind down book at the end of the day. Emma’s relationships with Islington, Hawkes and Pierce are continuing to deepen and even hint at romance.

Back After This by Linda Holmes
I just binge-read Linda Holmes’ new book and completely loved it. It’s about a podcast producer who’s reluctantly roped into hosting a dating show based on her own love life. The meet-cute was so unique, funny, and unexpectedly adorable (there’s a very large lost dog involved). The male lead is quirky in the best, slightly offbeat way—not your typical romance hero, and all the more lovable for it. If you liked Evvie Drake Starts Over (which I very much did!), this one has that same blend of warmth, wit, and heart, with characters that feel real and easy to root for.
