4 Books I’m Reading Right Now

We’re back from a quick trip to Idaho where we spent a couple of days swimming, doing puzzles, playing games, and going for walks – it was the perfect kick off to summer and now we’re back to go all-in on summer schedules and routines!

My biggest goal this summer is to catch up on my Goodreads goal – I’m currently about 19 books behind!

Here’s what I’m reading right now:

Minimalista

Minimalista by Shira Gill
I read this one years ago (in fact, it’s on the Summer Reading Guide this year!) but I’m re-reading it because I’m in major organizing and cleaning mode, plus reading it is one of the merit badges for the Proper Mountain Woman Club this session!

Change of Plans by Sarah Dessen
I LOVED Sarah Dessen about 18 years ago and read every book she wrote. Now she has a new one out (it’s been a bit!) and it makes me feel 21 again to be dropping into one of her summer beach novels.

Every Version of You by Natalie Messier
I am a sucker for a time travel/time loop book and this one about a woman who gets a do-over of her life after a car accident pulled me right in. While we were on vacation this week, I sat in the hotel lobby while it rained outside and blew through the first quarter! Really fun so far.

Mattering: The Secret to a Life of Deep Connection and Purpose by Jennifer Breheny Wallace
I absolutely loved her book Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic – and What We Can Do About It a few years, so when a reader mentioned she had a new book out, I grabbed it immediately and have been listening to the audio on my morning walks.

And here’s what my team is reading right now!

Analese

our perfect storm book

Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune
I absolutely loved Every Summer After, but Meet Me at the Lake fell flat so she hasn’t been on my radar until Janssen said she loved this one. I’m really only a few chapters into this one and enjoying it so far. Childhood best friends, Frankie and George, find themselves on Frankie’s honeymoon – without Frankie’s groom – trying to fix their friendship that has been on again, off again for decades.

Jennifer

Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown
My husband and I started reading this book together last weekend when we had to go to St. Louis for my brother in law’s graduation. We read another Dan Brown novel together on our honeymoon so this felt a bit nostalgic as we also celebrated our fourteenth wedding anniversary. This book has all the mystery and intrigue characteristic of a Dan Brown novel and follows symbologist Robert Langdon all over Prague as he solves the latest mystery involving his New Romantic interest Katherine Solomon and her work in noetic science.

Kelsey

The Only One Left by Riley Sager
The twists in this one were wild and just kept coming until the very end! In a small coastal Maine town, Lenora Hope was accused of murdering her family 60 years ago, though she’s always claimed she was innocent. Now elderly, mute, and wheelchair-bound after several strokes, she begins communicating with her home health aide, Kit, through a typewriter…and Kit quickly realizes there may be far more to the story than anyone knows. I listened to this one on audio, and it was excellent!
