Book Deals for the Weekend of October 17th
Sometimes you’re excited for the weekend.
And sometimes you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT for the weekend.
I’m experiencing the second right now!
I’ve been going hard all week and can’t wait for some sleeping in and snuggling up with a good book (with the fire on – it’s finally getting chilly here!)
Here are some book deals you won’t want to miss!
Dear Henry, Love Edith by Becca Kinzer – audiobook – $3.99
Henry is not thrilled about hosting who he assumes is an elderly widow for the summer, and Edith is convinced her grumpy host is just as old, so the two of them start leaving each other notes that get more personal by the day. Meanwhile, they keep bumping into each other around town without realizing who the other is. It sounds like a cute, sweet rom-com!

The Chocolate Touch by Patrick Scene Catling – audiobook – $6.99
I read this when I was little and I still remember it so clearly – the idea of everything you touched turning into chocolate is so exciting. This is a fun, fast paced book that’s a perfect read aloud or solo read for middle grade readers. (Plus, this one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

Magic Marks the Spot by Caroline Carlson – audiobook – $6.99
This book is so fun and Ella loved the whole series about a very determined girl who is set on joining a league of pirates. The audiobook is fantastic – it’s read by my all-time favorite narrator. (Plus, this one is a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan – audiobook –
This beloved Newbery winner is the story of Sarah Elisabeth Wheaton who comes out to the prairies from her home in Maine when Papa advertises for someone to come join their family as a wife and mother. (This one is a Libro.fm title, which means you can make it into a Yoto card!).

Wait Till Next Year by Doris Kearns Goodwin – audiobook – $3.99
I read this for a sports history class I took, but I loved it as if I’d picked it out on my own. Just a marvelous memoir. Fun, funny, and touching, even if you don’t care about sports. I picked this one for my Texas book club years ago and it was just as good the second time!
The Duke’s Bargain by Megan Walker – audiobook – $3.99
I could never turn down a regency romance! After a stolen kiss ruins her reputation, Georgiana Wood strikes a deal with the Duke of Marlow: she’ll return a priceless family heirloom if he’ll take her on three outings in London during the Season to help restore her good name. What starts as a pretend friendship turns into something real.

Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson, illustrated by Jenn Chapman – audiobook – $0.99
Bear is having the hardest time staying up for all of the Christmas celebrations, but realizes that giving is one of the best parts of Christmas! This one is really terrific and made it on to one of my Christmas book posts!

Ivy and Bean Get to Work! (Book 12) by Annie Barrows & Sophie Blackall – audiobook – $2.99
Bean and Ivy didn’t mean to be friends – but then they accidentally become best friends and get into all sorts of fun adventures. Ella listened to the whole series when she was little.

Ghoulia (all books) by Barbara Cantini -audiobook – $0.99-$1.99
Ghoulia is a zombie living with her aunt in a house on the edge of town and they never leave the house for fear of being run out of town. But on Halloween, with everyone dressing up, it seems like the perfect chance to sneak out and pretend to be a normal little girl dressed up as a zombie. Will it work? This one is really fun on audio – lots of sound effects! The rest of the books in the series are also on sale.

Top Elf by Caleb Zane Huett – audiobook – $0.99
This is the Christmas chapter book I read to my girls a few years ago and we did a combo of reading aloud and listening to the audiobook, which was very fun. Santa is looking for a successor and he’s opening the position to anyone who wants to apply. But the contest is NOT for the weak of heart! For under $1, this is the perfect time to snag it for the holidays coming up!
