The weather has been GORGEOUS this week which really puts a little extra bounce in my step.
And some good books to enjoy this weekend – probably in the basket swing on our back patio – makes it even better!
Here are some terrific books on sale this weekend.
I’ve enjoyed all of her YA historical fiction books, but I haven’t read this one yet, despite the fact that it’s been recommended to me approximately forty million times. Now I can get myself a copy that won’t be due back to the library.
The Read Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease
I mean, this is just the Bible of books about books. It’s full of research about reading aloud with your children, plus tons of book lists. My mom owned a copy of this my whole life and returned to it frequently and gave it as gifts to many many other parents.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I really really loved this book about a twin going off to college by herself, and trying to navigate her complicated family life, balance her wildly popular fan fiction writing, and possibly fall in love. If I was forced to choose a favorite Rainbow Rowell book, it might be this one.
Smitten Kitchen Every Day by Deb Perelman
I’ve been following Deb since BEFORE she started Smitten Kitchen, back when her blog was a dating blog. Some of her recipes are a bit out there for me, but her recipes never let me down and this cookbook is bursting with delicious options. (I only own this one, but her first cookbook, The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook, is also fantastic).
