How to Change Font Size on Kindle

I’m a huge Kindle fan (I got my first one in 2010!) and I love learning all the tips and tricks about how to make the most of it!

One of my favorite Kindle features is the ability to change the font size on your Kindle. This is great if your eyes have a hard time with small text and it’s especially helpful for kids who are overwhelmed by tiny text – I’ve heard from so many parents that their kids can handle bigger books on their Kindle because it doesn’t look so hefty (like a 500 page paperback might!) and they can make the text as big as they’d like.

If you’re in the dark about how to change your font size on your Kindle, there are a couple of ways to do it. I’ll show you both!

This is the easiest way to change your font size on your Kindle ereader.

First step, open up a book. Once you have some text on your screen, you simply place two fingers on your screen and do a pinch-pull motion.

Pinching your fingers together makes the text smaller, while spreading your fingers apart make the font larger. It’s the same concept as you would use to zoom in on your smartphone.

(Keep in mind, you cannot do this on the Kindle app).

First, open up a book on your Kindle app. Next, tap the top of the screen to have the toolbar appear.

Select the “Aa” icon.

The default should be “Font” but if it isn’t, choose “Font” and use the slider bar to make your font smaller or bigger. You can also change what font you would like, along with the spacing of your text!

These steps also work on a Kindle eReader with all of the extra options available.

And that’s it!!

  1. I have had my kindle for over 3 years and had no idea about the “pinch-pull,” way! I’ll have to ask my kids if they know this-they probably do! 😆🤦‍♀️
