Girls Camp Ideas: The Activities I Packed

Back in June, I went to Girls Camp (a several day church camp for teen girls) as the assistant director.

One of my main responsibilities was providing girls camp activities for downtime, in between lake activities, hiking, meals, and other plans.

Well, you don’t have to ask me twice! This is my dream responsibility!

Here’s what I took:

DOWN TIME ACTIVITIES FOR GIRLS CAMP

Bedazzling supplies
Bedazzling was far and away the biggest hit! I brought one set of gems and extra wax pencils and glue and by the time we left, everything you can imagine was sparkling!! Phones, shoes, journals, hats, books, crocs, and camp booklets all received a glow up!

Embroidery supplies
Embroidery was a close second! We did bags and hats for each of the girls instead of T-shirts or sweatshirts (at the request of the older girls who helped plan things) and they were a big hit and way more useful than a tee that would end up in the donation bin immediately after camp! The bags all got gussied up during camp.

Bead Kit
Beading was also a big hit! I brought this kit along with some Tila beads and there was lots of fun new jewelry being sported by the girls and the leaders!

Games
I brought plenty of games, including my new favorite – Piles! Although they didn’t get played as much as I expected, I would still bring them again. Games are a great way to bond and wind down. Group games are always a good idea when you have more than a handful of people.

Coloring book (code is READ15)
I got this coloring book with National Parks art and cut each page out so people could grab one without hogging the whole back. I brought a bunch of these colored pencils so there were plenty available. This was a big hit after dinner when girls wanted to chill out and chat. I also really love these coloring books.

Kites
These were a last minute request from a leader who was responsible for Lake Day and they turned out to be very popular on our windy lake day!

Olive & June nail polish
I have a pretty hefty stash of Olive and June nail polish and was thrilled to see everyone had fancy nails by the time we headed home. And I’m sure you’re not surprised to hear that the bedazzling gems were added to the manicures as well!

Rom Com Puzzle (code is READ15)
I couldn’t head to camp without bringing a handful of puzzles. My only regret is that I didn’t bring more of my favorite puzzles! We went through EIGHT puzzles in three days! These are my people.

If you have questions about Girls Camp or any of these activities, I’m happy to answer!
